do u need to watch the movie to "get" the drama?!?
No, you can watch the drama on it's own. But the movie does stablish a better background for the characters, so I do recommend to watch the movie first and then the drama afterwards.
Decided to rewatch this show, this time the movie version. I remember when I first watched Color Rush and rated it a 9.5 (well deserved), but I've decided to change my original rating to 8.5. Now, I'm going to point some stuff out about this first season, since the second was announced and with a completely different cast and story.
First off, what I've seen most people complain about this show was Hyun Jun's (Go Yoo Han) acting. Now let me tell you, having watched my fair share of BL's and a lot of low budget/quality ones, let me tell you that his acting was somewhat decent. His acting was definitely not what made me lower my rating concerning the series. Yes, his acting was a bit stiff at times but I think that was due to two important factor: lack of experience and poor instructions from the director/scriptwriter. Hyun Jun is a rookie actor and CR was his debut as an actor, I think instead of throwing hate at the poor boy (which literally was what made him not join the second season) people should have taken into consideration that the director was the one at fault to not instruct the dude at how to properly act. Only if that was truly intentional and that Yoo Han's character was supposed to look and act that way, then yeah, that's fair.
Now the real reason for why I dropped my rating: jumbled up scenes and incoherent story/script/lines. I could write a whole essay on the flaws that this show had (don't get me wrong, it's still one of my favorite KBL's) but I'll spare everyone the suffering. There's a lot of scenes that doesn't really make sense and are just put together for the sake of fanservice. The most random scene was the one where Yoo Han gives Yeon Woo a back hug (the rain scene). Prior to that part, Yeon Woo and Yoo Han are at the infirmary, Yeon Woo had a color rushing moment, they have a cute moment afterwards while trying to sort themselves out, and then suddenly they are outside having a back hug moment. Yoo Han is afraid of the rain for no explained reason, is crying and apparently mad at Yeon Woo for passing out (??) I thought we were past that scene. This scene and a lot of others more were pretty random and didn't add up much to the whole story (which I was pretty invested on).
I've already rambled a lot and what I've wrote probably doesn't make much sense when I try to write it down, but it makes sense in my head lol. Overall, Color Rush is a very unique BL and I really appreciate it. Still one of my favorites and it's very visually stunning. I'm happy they decided to continue the story and give it a second season, even tho I'm quite upset that the original cast is not happening, apart from Yoo Jun.
It was okay. Not very deep and the characters were nice. The plot kinda lost it's way on those last 2 episodes but I was mostly watching for Jang Eui Soo's smile. It does have very cute scenes and this one gave a lot of summer vibes to it.
Hmm don't really know how to feel about this movie. Kinda liked it but not to the point of recommending it to others. The main couple was to solely reason for why I watched this movie (and continued watching) but somehow the other 2 couples took more screen time then them. It's not a happy movie and it does talk about some sensitive topics. The characters were quite odd and quite difficult to like actually, but I did find Mamiya's character interesting. Overall it's a very weird movie with even weirder characters and with a very slow plot.
What to say about this show? AMAZING. Words can't describe how much I enjoyed watching this series. The movie had already set a really good impression on me but then the drama surpassed all my expectations for it. It was simply fenomenal. It's the most random and ridiculous drama I have ever seen and it still managed to make me stay engaged on it from start to finish. All the characters were hilarious and their life situations were so ridiculous. Hiroshi, Takeru and Tetsuo were such an iconic trio and the plot twists surrounding them were brilliant. On the drama we also get to see a lot more from the other characters and that only made the show even more interesting, since they were as random as the main trio. I'm in desperate need of a second season and will recommend this show to whoever wants to watch something light and hilarious. The OST was also another plus for this one, such good bops from EXILE. Please show support to JAM The Project <3
I stumbled upon this show on a weird occasion in which I was just searching for some BL to watch. Ended up finding this show having complete no idea on what I was getting myself into. For all the BL lover's who somehow may find themselves on the same situation, I'll warn you, this one is definitely not a BL. BUT it's very worth it. The story is very interesting and the suspense surrounding the professor, Akira, managed to get me hooked since episode one. Also, it's undeniable that the bromance is strong, we got a lot of cute and soft moments between the leads and that was enough for me. I loved the story and the lie concept they had going on, and this show is very easy to binge so it's really good if you just want to chill someday and watch something light and yet intriguing.
It makes me sad that this movie isn't more well known. I already watched it 2 times and still can't get over the fact how amazing and random it is. The acting is simply fenomenal and the fact that they made a sequel for it (Jam The Drama) is even better. The series is on another level of trippyness and randomness but it's so worth it! You go from laughing to being confused to being scared in matter of seconds. It's a wild ride but it's definitely worth it.
This movie had me on the first half, after that, it went straight down hill. DON'T TRUST THE TAGS. This movie has *trigger warning* attempted sexual assault and rape. For real, I was having a good time watching the first half of the movie, it had a promising plot, promising characters and development, but they somehow butchered it all. I'm still trying to figure out what type of message this movie was trying to convey (if any at all). I'll give props to the actors tho, amazing as usual, but even their acting alone couldn't make me like this movie. The second half of the movie seemed to be a bunch of scrambled stories put together with little to none deep meaning behind it. The biology undertone was interesting, but even that felt bad and poorly made. I mean, some people might like this style of movie, but it just wasn't for me.
Wow okay, I ended up really liking this movie. I didn't expect at all to receive this type of movie but I was all in for the ride. Not gonna lie, the first half of the movie had me really confused, but after I started to look more into the movie and reading between the lines of the artsy parts, I started to understand what they were trying to do. It's a very heavy movie, I would not recommend this for everyone, as it does have some very triggering scenes for some. Really nice movie and the actors were fenomenal, specially Byron who was able to portrait a very broken man trying to find his way and overcome his traumas. I really did wish it would end differently, but from the start I already got the sad vibes from this one.
What a hidden gem this was. It's a very non-sensical movie, with nothing deep happening and with a all over the place plot but for some unknown reason, I found myself loving this movie from start to finish. The different stories are quite enjoyable (and most of them quite absurd tbh). The characters are actually quite funny even tho it's supposed to be a dark movie. Machida Keita never disappoints in catching my attention, his character was so dumb and innocent, I felt sorry for what was happening to him. Sho's character was my favorite and he had the most absurd and hilarious things happening to him. The poor man just wanted to scam old ladies with his cult, i mean, concert meetings, but instead he met a crazy lady that changed his whole life XD. Suzuki's character was the most useless one but he still managed to get my attention. Overall, this one is definitely not your average movie but it's still a pretty fun one to watch, specially if you don't take it 100% seriously.
I feel sorry for all the actor who had to go through the pain of participating of this movie. What an atrocious movie! Honestly, I felt like I was losing brain cells while watching it. Overall it's just an awful movie, I can't even describe how bad it was, and the editing is so poorly made, it felt very amateurish but at the same time I think they tried way too hard for it to seem very "expensive". Acting was okay in my opinion, Yuki actor tho was just horrible, he kept making this weird faces that maked no sense whatsoever. Tenoin's actor was good, he really made me hate his character, so props to the actor. I'm not even gonna tag this as spoiler cuz I think everyone should know, there's rape in this and the scene was very sad, the face Yuki made at the end was just heartbreaking for me. This movie disguises itself as this wholesome classical themed movie, but it's just an atomic bomb for your eyes. At least I had some good laughs at some parts. I honestly only continued watching bcs I like classical music so I was enjoying those bits, but homies couldn't even hold a violin properly and the conductor kept doing the same movements with his hands and that just annoyed me so much lol. Also, ML spent the entire movie calling the other dude a rapist and saying he would never forgive him, BUT LORD AND BEHOLD, homie actually forgives him. So yeah, don't even waste your time watching this, run for the hills if you have to, but just stay away from this movie at all costs.
Very interesting and realistic movie. No wonder this movie received a lot of awards, the story and acting are so well delivered and I could feel the pain the male lead was in with the loss of his partner and now having to take care of his child alone. Very heavy and sad movie so if you're looking for something happy, this is not the movie for you.
Ahh you put it in such a great way! They have amazing chemistry but Kido's love wasn't like Kijima's and he felt…
Aww thank you!! And yeah, that's exactly it. Kido was an ass all around with Kijima. He just kept playing with him and never commiting to actually be together. Kido also didn't want to admit to himself that he fell for a man, and that also contributed for him to push Kijima away. Kijima had always been a complex charater, even before him meeting Kido, but their awful and toxic relationship only made it worse. It made Kijima never trust someone again and it made him to always be the one to deceive others, that way he won't be the one getting hurt at the end (but things don't always work the way we want them to, as we see in Pornographer). This series is really amazing because the characters are so enigmatic and unique, I love Kijima even with his twisted personality. Glad you also liked the series!
BIBARI-SAN.... RUI A hidden gem that will only get to be known by those who have sanked too deep into the web. But still, the beauty in which this comedy presents itself will only be appreciated within it's full potential, several years from now. When alien invade the planet, I want them to know that such a magnificent show existed.
I was very hyped when this series was announced, finally a historical BL and a korean one at tops. But yeah, all my hopes of it being actually good were destroyed right on the first episode. It's a very light show and it's not meant to be taken seriously, so just watch it as a parody, that's what I did and it made the experience way better and funnier. It's a soft, light and hilarious show. The actors did really good and it's obvious they had a lot of fun while filming it, so I'm happy for them. The story is a complete mess tho, don't even need to pay attention to it lol.

The ending song is a bop.
In all seriousness tho, it baffles me how people don't even wait to see where the show is really going to. It's only the first episode guys, chill.
