ur welcome and sometimes i write things just to make things clear to myself, let alone voice my frustration lol.…
thank u for the praise - i try (●'◡'●) i think when the movie isn't in a language u understand (as most of the times the subbers aint professional's, just fan's - that do god's work lol) so even their understanding (or lack there of, considering age) must be taken into consideration - so i agree about, rewatching and getting new stuff in my case it's more emotionally based. if i feel too sensitive something can touch a sore spot and then that colors my POV, which later if i rewatch the same drama/movie i will see stuff from a different angle idk nothing cut and dry. but laughed at ur David Lynch observation (¬‿¬)(¬_¬ ) too true...
about the kiss u like most, take it as something that took place - but going by the scene preceding it, let alone the one after - it doesn't "fit" is the only way i can accurately describe the feel i got - u mentioned the "...color hues changed and the lights all went out behind them..." and that to me is more fantasy and not reality - if they were on their first date, then i would say ok its happening and they so into each other the world around them disappeared. here cause of their emotion's let alone where they r as a couple - it doesn't fit - that's why i donno for sure.. what it meant
Thanks for posting your review. I got the rough outlines of what was going on, but you put into words what were…
ur welcome and sometimes i write things just to make things clear to myself, let alone voice my frustration lol.
first off need to point out they not broken up for months like u pointed out, but 1 month (or rather they meet 1 month after their break-up) which according to Fan - Tien just ghosted him out and that's why he is left this confused. which added to my dislike of Tien . cause no matter how much of a "over do-er" Fan was - if ur in a relationship the least u owe ur partner, is a reason for u not wanting to be with them any more. tell him he was too much and u felt smothered - say he had bad hygiene anything freakin thing, then what we and Fan got idk maybe just me. but if u loved someone that's the lest u can do for them, then leave them with nothing - making them into a neurotic fool, that questions everything about themselves, wondering what went wrong let alone what they did wrong. never to get answers - that's sad. (not to mention really bad for Fan's future relationships).
the kiss i didn't "touch" - cause i admit, i didn't get what the writer was trying to get at - was it a yearning on Fan's side of what he felt and still feels. while on Tien's it was an "ode" to better times - donno. that's why i just didn't mention it, cause i unlike some comment's i read didn't think it "happened" - if u get what i mean. what is ur take on that kiss? read a few comments but haven't read anything that "feels right"....
wow this last ep was a micro ep - not even a mini - the rest after the credits, is an interview with the cast and director . which if ur interested its there for u. it's cute and all but - i wasn't that riveted to everything going on and zoned out pretty quick. (just though the guys playing Nut and Phob looked better before, then after the styling for their character's) even though nothing dampening down Title's beauty - and the boy is beautiful! he was a joy to watch, even when there was nothing much going on - on screen.
other then that, this was ok - cute end and i'm glad "they" didn't go the depressing route, just to add gravitas - as is i think both Mean and Pchy coming from this industry, portraying gay character's know how they can be exploited and put into situations that r far from comfortable regardless of their own personal sexual orientation - so they both thrived to bring something "more" to the BL scene and in that, they succeeded. as this was unlike most of the BL's coming out of Thailand - the focus was on the plot and it wasn't on them being gay or even coming out - but their friendship and how circumstances tore them apart and how they worked to over come obstacles. it was far from perfect, but most of the cliché and tropes where avoided. so great effort by all and hope they go from strength to strength in the future
Loved this drama (well, loved most of it). But I am feeling the same frustration. Really did NOT like the ending.…
for me from the start there was something shady about him - what with the weird smiles at inappropriate times. but like u wrote was sure this was gonna end bad - with his sacrificing himself - not cause i wanted or though he deserved to die for the greater good (let alone that annoying Emi) but that's the feel from a load of the character's a hints dropped. but read someone mentioning that All of the followers, including the assassin, were all part of Rosin's "plan" plan for "Hemingway" or for the man "Hemingway" turn into the "prophet". same with his transformation at the end - cause throughout this he was in white serene colors and at the end u see him in all black - heck ever his ear loops were black - indicator of who he really is? things to come idk guess that's an open for the next season.
sh*t - kinda speechless - well a LOT of thoughts running around in my head right now but that end blindsides me - cause was sure Hemi died and yet not - why? cause a prophet is indestructible?!? cause the way things were turning out, logical - had a feeling (considering all the hints dropped throughout this) that Hemi crossed the seas to sacrifice himself and save Japan. but that's not the end we got, and i'm like why? so there will be a season 2? that's the only logical explanation - and if so kinda disappointing. cause as much as i was sad - heck even teared up - cause i though Hemi willingly "bit the bullet" as no other scenario saved the person he loved. it was a befitting ending for someone who was called a prophet. but this is like anticlimactic - i donno what to feel other then let down
What the Frack - there were a lot of things i was gonna point out but now ---- WTH happened with Mario?!??? that was his ending - dancing with his blind past-gf?!??? stuck forever in that resort?!??? ugh seriously just for, that i'm calling b.s on this ep. as is - as this also a K-BL was worried "they" gonna do a quick wrap up, so they could stamp the words "the end" and be done with this.
not the case, cause Peach and Yoon Oh got kind of a sweet farewell. as is their relationship or romance started-out in the blink of an eye, but as the pace was very mellow - same with the emotions (as they were more focused on the dead/ghost thing) it feel very organic and the fact that there wasn't any angst, on the whole gay issue also seemed fitting (cause they existed in a universe of 2) it had a very warm, accepting and cozy feel to their whole "situation". even that end was somehow fitting, as it was a continuation of the same feel throughout their relationship and they got to convey their heartfelt emotions, let alone confess their love. the "puff" of smoke at the end was like a sign from heaven - kinda like a reminder that "u might not see me, but i'm still here with u..." so a bit cloying and cliché (but lets face facts, Peach and Yoon Oh 'ship' was almost magical - so that ending kept the theme going) fitting.
oh well, never mind - it was a perfect watch until the end - well the end was a let down. but it would be no matter what cause its the end - and will say this again Mario (Tommy) made this drama for me - yeah everyone else added and did a good job. but Tommy was "it" for me from start to finish - yup i'm "whipped"
i was searching for this high and low, cause after watching the K-movie version i was so curious what the J-version would be like (and after some of the BL's i've watched made in japan) i was sure it would be as enjoyable, if not better - color me disappointed. "this is a story about cakes and the tale of Kanda Eiji" idk why "they" even used the title or hinted at the manga. as other then the character's names and a bit of their personalities, there's Nothing Adapted from the manga - guess other then brining in Takizawa Hideaki's fans, they wanted the manga's following too - idk if they were as elated as Hideaki's fans, but now too late in the game to go search that out (also not really interested lol...) but like i already mentioned, this a one-off and it was only enjoyable cause of Tachibana Keichiro, he the saving grace of this pretty blah drama.
also i really wish "people" would research and talk a bit with victim's, then just blabber whatever pop's-up in their mind. like everyone telling Tachibana "its time to get over his past trauma and get on with life.." this stupid, ignorant and infuriating - u can't just tell someone shake it off !! that's not how the freakin psyche works. if it was, people wouldn't be going for decades of therapy, with little to no results. belittling someone's pain just for a quick happy warp-up, is the worse crime this drama has committed boo booo!!! but they also totally whitewashed Ono's character, cause i guess they weren't as "ok" about the "gay" thing in 2001 (?) basically this a let down. a one off pity as this could've been so much more considering Shiina Kippei, Abe Hiroshi and even Fujiki Naohito were great - oh well
well hell, this was an unaccepted gem - considering the glaring inexperience in almost ever aspect - this turned out to be good - yeah it has its rough edges, but the main plot and actors did a fair job smoothing things out and making this a joy to view. heck even kept me wanting for more, cause i'm so there for the next season - can't wait. also glad it just ended with a meeting of hands and nothing more, cause this was a slow burn and to go from 0 to 100 just cause we need to wrap things up, would be a disservices to the main plot or the viewer's rooting for the main couple. so for me it was a perfect ending -
i really wish BL's would focus on one couple and not add unnecessary side plots - like King, Peat and Ice(?) like why - and WTF was what we got in this ep - King went pervy aggressor in the blink of an eye - why? he the older mature person. he acted the moron and left his work in the taxi (as if he couldn't get contact info on that taxi-company and search for his work??) but Ice wasn't at fault and his offer came out of innocents, let alone the want to help and he the tease? when he didn't know being a model automaticlly meant nude model?!? plz that whole scene was cringe, and i guess a build up for next season - as this couple is on the rocks even without the added new potential love interest.
Nont - talk about pathetic character. so Kaitoon's cell is for show or work calls only?? cause even if he got "kidnaped" he had all the time in the world, to let Nont know, their date was canceled. like dude was on his cell before bed - searching for porno?? that's just being an inconsiderate douche. u don't do that to a friend. so no need to show us Nont the poor abandoned puppy - he a sad character we all know this. oh well lets hope he fair's better in the next season - love interest of his own?!?? lets hope
this was so sweet - especially when u get to the end and u "get" that the mother and brother know all along, and r just checking up on the big-brothers partner to make sure he is an "ok" worthy person. yeah at the start Yeong Min is a total abrasive brat, that u wanna punch - but "getting" that he not being a d*ck just to be a d*ck, it was a sweet conclusion to a otherwise fun, well thought out plot. short and sweet
the version i watched - the sub's leave much to be desired - i.e the sub's not perfect and some part r not translated - so its basically a guessing game - that being said, this was interesting. and usually things like cinematography (even if appreciated - i don't feel the need to point it out) here it was really great, at the start - it was soothing, beautiful and gave u a very relaxed vibe to the intro - even though considering the description, u knew the other shoes was gonna drop at any moment. but it was a very good start - same with the documentary vibe the plot portrayed.
also donno about the experience of the actors, but great job done by all - the plot had some holes that i wish were finessed - so we got a better flow, but all in all it was very creepy and disturbing - wont say scary, in-spite of the blood and gore at the end, let alone the depressing ending. but i wasn't scared - no jump-scare's either.
personally wished the movie had a positive finale - cause the way it was left, what we looking at zombie apocalypse?!? cause that seemed never ending... so even with the added bit where Nim at last admits she doesn't really know, if she has been possessed by any god and can actually do anything, let alone help her niece - showing us that maybe Psychic Medium's r basically fake - but then what is going on with Mink - kinda confusing end. but maybe (as i started) the subs left a lot of holes that i guessed at, so if i spoke Thai it would've made better sense idk - for now a one off
just finished watching this and crap ending - found nothing to cry about - this wasn't sad, it was stupid .
but i don't regret watching, only cause of Ray Chang - he a talented actor and he gave it his all as Shu Hai, it was a joy to watch him and even loved the bromance scenes with Hong Pei (who genuinely seemed entertained by Ray's antic's - as in Jasper not his character) Shu Hai was the cherry on top (of this mediocre cake) and made this whole viewing, not only bearable but enjoyable and worthy. wish a lot was written differently and for sure had a better ending - but it is what it is and sadly, cause of the rest it will be a one off.
WTAF did i watch - this so didn't go how i excepted it too.. that long ass speech and it amounted to what? nothing.. this started out strong - donno who the geisha was but that scene was cool and creepy.. and then it just went south.. idk i guess for a one off this was interesting - but that's about it as the ending was anticlimactic
this insecure jackass is the most undeserving "FL" i've come across in a while, Yagii deserves better then this buffoon who needs constant hand-holding and ego building, and then Maeda decide to ghost someone so much more worthier then him - why?!? cause - reason... b*tch plz
so that whole scene with Hashimoto was the cherry on-top of his stupid behavior - has this moron forgotten he a man that can push someone he isn't into, away?!? is he capable of using his arms? or they for decoration?!? he just standing there acting meek lol lord give me strength - and of course Yagii needs to rush in to rescues his sorry ass - nahh pssh - enough
i had enough of this. stopped it there and have no intention of watching a sec more ugh
this was really good - great acting and interesting plot in-spite of it being in black and white and pretty slow-paced, it aint a boring movie. even had light and fun moments -
from the start i was absorbed into the plot and what was going on - loved Yak Jeon's personality - he was unyielding not matter what he faced, his objective was to survive and he fought for that - for himself and his brother. even in the face of exile, he showed a strong front and found a reason to go on - finding a purpose on that remote island, let alone a pupil and then creating a family. it was bittersweet considering the end but realistic as we talking historical biopic.
Chang Dae was also an interesting character considering his background - capability and achievement's. but the women really shined for me - they were strong, smart and very supportive of their men - that's what enabled them to succeed in their endeavor's... guess cause of how it ended it feels a sad. cause even if Chang Dae realized his "teacher" was in the right, and his big dream of changing the corrupt world, was near impossible. his getting back too late, to be with a person that he really cared for - that treated him better then his own biological father did - was sad... still enjoyed this - good movie, great acting!
Gi Tae was popping pills why before he drugs Jun Young - and add the amount of alcohol he consumed was pretty sure he was a suicide mission or some such, so even though the end was sad - it wasn't depressing - cause it was left open and maybe his break-down dance, didn't necessarily mean he was gonna end things, cause of how Jun Young deserted him. (but the movie i saw had really bad subs, so a lot of this was a guessing game for me and maybe i missed info that would make me come to a different conclusion - idk)
saw this with bad subs - got the gist and kinda sad - hate teacher - student relationship's but would like to know if they got it on in the gay-bar cause the teacher was blind drunk or just made out and then the student got fixated on the teacher?!? and get that the teacher was panicking himself, cause of his position and this bein a 18yr old kid he was taught . let alone wondering if this would leak etc - but didn't like him hitting the kid to get his point across - he as a gay person should know how difficult growing up gay is, and more the attraction the kid was turning to him cause he was the same - but all in all good story
in my case it's more emotionally based. if i feel too sensitive something can touch a sore spot and then that colors my POV, which later if i rewatch the same drama/movie i will see stuff from a different angle idk nothing cut and dry. but laughed at ur David Lynch observation (¬‿¬)(¬_¬ ) too true...
