Except that Lee Yeon already saved her life at least 5 times. If that isn't damsel in distress... Juuuuustttt…
To each his own my friend :) We might have different definitions of what a damsel in distress is. I don't necessarily think damsels in distress are specifically "cowards", a simplified text book definition would be "A young woman who is in trouble and needs a man's help".
You believe it's the character's brave nature that puts her in dangerous situations, I think it's exactly what a damsel in distress does - Puts herself in danger knowing full well she is going to be rescued (example, her jumping of the building). She does wait to be saved in one of those situations (but I'm not sure if you've watched that yet). I do agree she isn't a coward, but that doesn't mean she isn't a damsel in distress. Again to each his own ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ
Same, I hope the brothers will be the main focus by the end of it. But I don't believe that will happen. In my…
That's exactly what I was going for - Most predictable K-drama endings - Haha!! It would literally be a miracle if the show goes the route me and you are hoping for. And I honestly agree with that last statement ( ´ ω ` )
Good acting (if a bit over the top) ! But the plot is a mess, the ML should provide everything so that the FL…
I don't personally think the acting is over the top, especially if you've ever seen first hand how a parent reacts to the loss of their child, to me it felt like both characters nailed it.
So ... I have this theory where by the end of the show, the character roles will change: Lee Rang and Lee Yeon…
Same, I hope the brothers will be the main focus by the end of it. But I don't believe that will happen. In my opinion it's more likely that - Lee Rang will sacrifice himself for the couple (and I don't think he's gonna reincarnate), Ji Ah will probably die in some way to finally truly kill the imoogi but she will reincarnate and end up together with Lee Yeon again both as humans, and the side couple will have a happy ending in the current timeline...
P.S. Lee Rang is definitely my favorite character in this show , gonna love his upcoming redemption arc.
that's why i love it. too many drama focus so much on the lead and make supporting cast is just, a supporting.…
I think I might have failed to convey my initial problem with this drama, that's my fault sorry. I personally absolutely love the concept, plot-line and that the supporting cast gets more time to shine on screen.
My only problem is that during dialogue scenes there isn't much diversity in the way the characters speak, they all talk in a way that is patronizing, and since I tend to dislike people who are condescending in real life, it makes me more inclined to dislike these types of characters.
I don't totally agree with that, each character is important, that marks the richness of this drama, it's also…
Sorry not sure I understand your comment. I wasn't saying the characters aren't important. I also wasn't trying to criticize the screenwriter for anything.
I finally understood my problem with this drama - Every single character in it is "pompous and self-important", be it the leads or supporting characters. I understand that they're all con-artists in one way or another. But having so many pretentious characters in on drama is exhausting for me as a viewer, it's like every scene has to have one character acting in a condescending way to another, even some of the romantic scenes are like that jeez.
Unlike the others, In my opinion this drama totally has Goblin vibes. On the surface the story might seem a bit…
What I wrote before about the plot was meant in a more general sense, fantasy drama's usually follow a similar narrative and this one does too. In my opinion the plot isn't that dark, it just has an added thrill element because you have ghosts involved. I do agree that this will most definitely have a happy ending, Goblin did too I mean the male and female leads ended up together. And like I said I'm watching this show now mainly for the brothers, their relationship is so much more interesting than the romantic plot and all the fantasy elements put together.
I think is balanced enough for all genres lovers :)
Agree to disagree. I had really high hopes for this drama, and up until now it fell short, in my opinion of course. And hey maybe that's my fault, that I came in expecting too much, I wanted it to be mind blowing and it's not, again that's my opinion. The only thing keeping me watching is the Mythical Fox Brothers' twisted relationship and the amazing chemistry these two actors have portraying brothers.
Is anyone else struggling with the abrupt transitions/editing/direction on this show? I am so often rewinding…
I'm not gonna nitpick the examples you gave like I see people have already. They're just examples. I do agree with you, the overall flow of each episode is not smooth at all, it's basically all over the place. You can make a show that is fast paced and still keep it running fluidly.
Is there a new topic in this drama? or it's like goblin? I really want a unique vibe, not only repeat the older…

On the surface the story might seem a bit different, but it's definitely a - Powerful magical character falls in love with a human way way way in the past, she reincarnates and he constantly saves her life, the human starts out as this strong willed character with her own opinions but that doesn't last long - Plus you can tell the ending is headed in very similar direction even from the first episode, both of them will sacrifice themselves someway for each other...
I watched Goblin for the Grim Reaper and Sunny, and I'm watching this one for Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum who play mythical fox brothers with a complicated relationship.
I have time and time again dropped dramas mainly for the lack of chemistry between the leads, that undoubtedly ends up making me cringe at how forced their interactions feel. In that regard Yoo In Na has never failed me, she seems to conjure up chemistry with her male counterparts, that is nothing less than palpable, every single time.

Meaning give me more Mythical Fox Brothers interactions please!
