Ji Soo is a good actor. However, let's not give him a pass just because of that. Here’sa quote from above: "Ji…
He was in MIDDLE SCHOOL at the time of the "bullying," for god's sake. Who hasn't done fucked up shit in middle school? And why should anyone lose an established career over it?
You sound like a Knetz sadist. How many entertainers have you helped drive to suicide?
This is sad that Ji Soo can’t make a comeback to kdrama acting. How seriously judgemental and without empathy…
Ji Soo's "school violence" took place in MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! The sexual assault charges against him were entirely fabricated and false, as the accuser confessed to. Are these liars never prosecuted? And yet, somehow, in insane Korea, this phenomenal actor is driven from the country and has to restart his career in the Philippines, for god's sake. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Almost as bad as the Knetz sadists are the film studios and management agencies who succumb to pressure from a small but vocal/hysterical minority and cancel shootings and fire actors. They are spineless.
Fucking Korea. So many Korean movies and actors I love but the celebrity abuse and suicide thing is horrifying to me. I often feel that by watching those films I am indirectly supporting that very thing.
What is being done to Kim Soo Hyun is just as horrifying. I'm glad he has filed suit against the liars who came after him.
It's exhausting watching an MC such as Min Jun subjecting himself once again to Jin Hwan' manipulations, especially since JH is just as smarmy and creepy as he was eight years before; using the same routines and behaviors. The internal monologue we hear indicates MJ really has experienced growth and change. Thus, I find it implausible that he goes all jellyfish-spineless at the sight of this jerk after eight years. I know this happens IRL but as I said, it's exhausting to watch.
Jin Hwan is a character we've seen 43 times before as well, with no distinguishing characteristics to render him interesting. Same old, same old...oily, always hiding things like who phone calls are from that he doesn't answer or why he hangs out with friends he purports to dislike.
I know we're going to see some huge/massive revelations that will explain and dismiss all of JH's off-putting behaviors. He had to act that way because his mother is dying in a hospital!!! He owes money to a loan shark and, and, and...something!!! Oh, and of course...MISUNDERSTANDINGS!!!
Lastly, this is exhausting because I knew more than one guy like JH in college and in the work world. Watching them operate, and being a target of their manipulations led me to quickly establish a distance every time. Watching MJ doing the jellyfish routing not once, but then again twice after an 8-year time jump, is tiring. He tells himself he has changed but I don't think he has.
This was my second watch of this one-of-a-kind flick.
Most of the time I didn't know if I should laugh or be turned on or roll my eyes, but I've gotten to the point where I respect a film that keeps things challenging like that. Ultimately, I decided to do all three as freely as I chose. :)
Is it a cultural thing? It seems that the sex in Japanese flicks invariably involves rapid-fire rabbit-f**king from the male, and over-the-top squealing/crying/sobbing/shouting with a big splat of reluctant acquiescence thrown in from the women. There were a couple of times when MT's thrusting was much more of a quivering vibration than anything else. "Rapid fire" doesn't do it justice. :D And omg, I have to mention his character's patented, special hand technique that looked more like torture than pleasure to me. The ladies seemed to enjoy it though, if screaming as if you're in pain signifies pleasure, and I suppose it does here.
I'm fine with lots of sex but so much of it seemed like a repetition of what I'd seen in other scenes. Except of course, for the delightful age-gap couple and their theatrical game-playing. That was fun. Oh, and the ML's experience with his male colleague...that was a high point as well. Except for the finger thing. good god.
But it was nice to see MT naked a lot.
I'm going to stick with the 9/10 rating I gave this the first time, despite or because of its weirdness and operatic cheesiness. Or despite those things. Oh hell, I don't know. :)
Oh...I didn't realize you are a die-hard Killer Knetz Klown, in which case I reiterate that I do not care what you think of my tone or any other aspect of my comments.
I am not going to waste my time trying to convince a KKK that KSH is "innocent." That's already been proven. Your insistence that this ginned-up "controversy" is real means that you are a vicious suicide enabler, unconcerned with things like facts and reality. Your focus is on the next celebrity kill.
As for "rage-baiting," that makes sense only if one concedes that this thread somehow belongs to the KKKs and that anyone who comments in opposition to their opinions is guilty of moving them to feel "rage." That is so stupid that it tells me all I need to know about your mentality.
And I love your pretense that you get to define "peak rage-baiter behavior." lol Go ahead, feel rage. I don't care.
It's telling that out of all the hateful, free-floating bile-spewers directing their fury at KSH in this thread, you select me, one of his few defenders, as the "rage-baiter."
Your rage-bait detector is of poor quality. That, or you're cos-playing as a neutral observer.
Korea is a kill-zone for entertainers. Every working artist knows they have a target on their back and could be taken out at any time.
You sound like a Knetz sadist. How many entertainers have you helped drive to suicide?
He admitted to bullying one kid in MIDDLE SCHOOL.
Everything else was a lie.
How many celebs have you helped drive to suicide?
Only in Korea would a popular actor's career be destroyed by such lame BS.
The sexual assault charges against him were entirely fabricated and false, as the accuser confessed to. Are these liars never prosecuted?

Here's the thing...
We've seen this plot 43 times before. I checked.

Either way, I'll keep watching. :P
Thanks.

9/10 again!
Sigh...I wish Korean entertainers would stop succumbing to pressure to alter their looks. You see this nose everywhere in Seoul.
Do you feel baited?

I've wasted far too much time on you already.
