For the first time, the MDL rating of an ongoing show is pissing me off. Normally, I don't rate until all eps have aired, but I made an exception for this wonderful drama. I see crappy Thai BLs and cheesy K-dramas rated in the high 8 and even 9 point range during their run. Having read many of the comments below, 99% of them wildly favorable, how do we end up at 8.1?

Using "maroon" as though it were "moron" is an American inside joke, I suppose. Back during Tr*mp's 2015 campaign, one of his brain-damaged supporters held a sign written something like, "Democrats are Maroons." A photo hit social media, and it's never been forgotten. :)
Edit: oops, I was mistaken. The sign said "morans," not "maroons." I guess maroons was my own little thing.

I searched MDL for the title. There are approximately 3,892 Thai titles containing the word "Duang." Maybe you're referencing "Duang With You?" Haven't seen it, or any of the other 3,891 "Duang" shows.
The last Thai BL I watched all the way through was "Moonlight Chicken"in 2023. :)

hmmm...still not really buying it. Hell, Jin Man went there and tried to beat up Gyeong Se himself earlier in the show, with good reason. Now, he's "disciplining" Dong Man for doing the same? hmmm... I suppose he's probably drunk, but I wish the script had given me a bit more clarity on that. When he showed up, I was hoping he was there to help Dong Man take on the baddies and give Gyeong an ass-whipping.
I wouldn't say anything about your taste, as it's yours.. but do consider this series is set in 1980s, so expecting…
The time period within the series has nothing to do with the way in which writers/director tell the story. I didn't say anything about "skinship," that's your word.
You know what's lame? Permitting a drama to take up two hours of your time without giving you a compelling reason to keep watching...and then giving it a few MORE hours of your time.
I'll rate a show how I choose, thanks. Why would I care that my rating gave someone a bad impression of a show I didn't like? I WANT them to have a bad impression of it.

In a way, he is showing self-respect by honoring a taboo part of himself and acting on it. Would it be more self-respectful to deny his longing? Isn't it the height of self-respect to acknowledge in oneself what society would shame one for?

Did you know words mean things and how one puts them together in sentences determines how words come together to convey larger meanings? It's true!
