One of my nicknames for the warrior prudes who hang out on MDL and try to police the presentation and viewing of anything even vaguely sexual in nature. The MDL Puritanical Church Girls. I used to call them Church Ladies, but most of them are clearly about 13 years old.

Well, I hope that more cases like this will play out with offenders being held to account, and the psycho hater-fans will begin to catch a clue.

Why are the full names of accused or even convicted criminals so often protected under these circumstances? Why shouldn't their names be part of the public record? I have seen the same practice in Korea, beginning with the bimbos who blew up Lee Sun Kyun's life and eventually killed him by slander and suicide. There is no attempt to shield the names of celebrities who are dragged into shit like this. Is this an Asian thing?

It was also the embarrassingly stupid way the scene in the parking lot was portrayed that annoyed me. Chihiro suddenly became this cowering, sort of useless person who just lay there waiting at several points, when even a semi-normal person would have at least tried to escape.

I am totally into people making bad life choices, which often drives gripping drama, but why and how they make those choices have to be convincing.

I get why Chihiro moved in with Haoran. First off, he's codependent as hell. Also, he had nowhere to live and no other options. Secondly, he is infatuated with Haoran. Moving in made sense to me. I like deeply flawed characters who make bad choices, as long as I get the why and how of it.

After the parking lot scene, I remembered from the first watch that it was downhill from there, so I wasn't about to watch a second time.

I do exactly as you describe when watching a drama as it airs.
I wait until the show is finished to rate, and I don't rate hysterically high just because I love what I saw.
But, I feel this one is authentically special, and when I saw the "low" 8.1 rating, I was annoyed. :P
I think of the rating system as ten stars being an A, nine a B, 8 a C, etc.
Thus, everything below 7 is an F to me.
So, when I saw this show being in the "C" or average class, for the first time, I decided to bitch about it. WAATH is anything but average.

I have said many times that MDL ratings are generally upside-down. Shit gets 9s and good stuff gets 6s. I'm a BL watcher and this is especially true in that category. I avoid the 9.2-rated Thai garbage like the plague.

I've had to decipher a number of mysterious MDL abbreviations and code words.

You can't adapt this Manga and cut out the sex.
The Manga is ABOUT the sex as much as the emotional interaction.
I find the awkward sex scenes amusing.

Sometimes, when a show has to tone down the sex to get itself aired and the scenes are "bad," as you say, I find it amusing. Seriously, how was Kaji banging Fukami with his underwear all the way up? lol

This show is hilarious and also touching.
It's great when a director manages to convey the feeling of a wild Manga like this, even while keeping the sex tame so the prudes won't freak out.

It was amusing how they were moving almost imperceptibly while supposedly doing the dirty.
Maybe a nervous producer was on set the day ep. 4 was shot. :)

I suppose stretching out the episode releases at one per week is intended to extend audience engagement and promote word of mouth, but especially with 13-minute episodes, I think they risk pissing people off, some of whom will just stop watching.

Anyone know if there's a more explicit version somewhere other than on Youtube?
