Cliched, rushed, unimaginative ending to what had been until episode 6 a fresh and fascinating new take on BL romance, with some intriguingly dark possibilities lurking in the shadows. But guess what? In the end, as with 90% of BLs, it was all about some HUGE misunderstanding, neurotic/paranoid thinking that circles back in on itself, and a large helping of inexplicable/implausible choices.
I'm so accustomed to BLs out of Japan/Korea/Taiwan, my only hopes for good BL these days, starting strong and fizzling before the end, that I won't bother complaining much.
I wish Hagiwara and Fuji had hooked up before the end. Better actors, hotter, and much more interesting than Sei. Especially in these last two episodes, he descended into this robotic, extremely low-affect mode that was off-putting. Why would anyone want to be around that 24/7?
By the end, I wondered if the GF was the asexual here, but doesn't know it yet. Her description of her feelings toward Hagiwara and any future lovers in the episode 6 coffee shop breakup scene, struck me as ace-ish.
Oh well...another pretty good but ultimately disappointing BL out of Jap/Kor/Tai. 7/10 Mildly recommended.

It's extra frustrating because some excellent BLs have come out of Taiwan. However, there seems to be a trend developing wherein we're getting more and more of these stupid, Thai-style, fluff-fests instead of the good stuff.

This should have been a lot better than it is. I started out feeling excited for what was to come, but it fizzled slowly. I watched all the way through. I don't not recommend it. But if you miss it you won't die either.
Appealing leads. Excellent chemistry. Mostly good acting. Iffy, but mostly OK direction. Some great comedic moments. Wish there had been more of that over-the-top, classic, out-there Japanese vibe. Some nice emotional moments. These two actors could have done so much more and better, under more skillful direction.
Should have been cut down to two rather than three episodes. Would have been a better plot tightened up that much.
I can't believe a show that teases, on multiple occasions, what it seems should have been a climactic kiss, instead chickens out. Really? In 2024? JBLs are still playing this tired game? Lame.

Oh gosh...dammit. I hate to see this kind of news but thank you for sharing it. I just did some googling and OF COURSE it was suicide. I have seen her in three good movies. Korean Psycho Celebrity/Fan/Police/Media Suicide Machine scores another prize. They tortured and hounded her after ONE drunk driving incident to the extent she's been laying low for a few years. And it pisses me off that Netflix keeps editing out actors in Korean shows who have a failing in real life. By doing this, NF encourages the netizen culture of abuse and hatred toward celebrities. Why not edit her out only on Korean Netflix? The rest of the world doesn't care about their insane celeb punishment culture.
In the U.S., where I live, she would have gone to court, been charged and paid fines or a bit of jail time or both, and received mandatory alcohol treatment and education. And when she was done doing that, or even when she was still on probation people would cheer her on to become a role model for people who mess up but succeed when given a second, third, or fourth chance. We love underdogs!

On edit: I just realized Yoo Ah In's re-sentencing date is this Tuesday. The prosecution is demanding FOUR YEARS. I will be stressed all day. Yoo is my favorite young-ish Korean actor. I read an article a while back that went into depth about why this younger generation is so pearl-clutchy about anything having to do with sex or relationships. I wish I could recall the writer's theory.
My favorite type of Church Lady Little Girl here on MDL are the ones who encounter a six-year age gap in a show and come in here shrieking "PEDOPHILE!" They don't bother to educate themselves as to what pedophilia actually IS.
Episode 1: This is silly, stupid, and fun. :) I like it!
The overlapping, double, internal monologues are hilarious. The leads are great. Good acting. The fujoshi/director is a scream. Over the top at times but not too much so...just right for the tone. And the all-important C H E M I S T R Y is there.

Nearly every time I throw down with a Church Lady I will get two or three or more friend requests. lol Turns out there are a LOT of lurkers here who don't comment because the prudes and know-nothings swarm them when they do, thus they feel intimidated and stop commenting.
