Are you CERTAIN that Fuji/Sei had sex? I don't think that's been made clear. And if they did, the idea that Sei…
Did you know that what happens in novels is often not what happens in adaptations? If not, I will gladly tell YOU that.
If there was a sexual assault it needs to be made clear, and here it was not made so except to those dying to interpret it that way. Poor writing/directing/acting in that case. It's not about the scene necessarily being "longer;" it's about what we see however long the scene lasted.
Lets be very clear, the fact that Sei stopped struggling and pushing Fuji off him is not consent, he just knew…
Part of my point, and I haven't done a good job of making it, is that if this was sexual assault the writers/director/actor did a poor job of making that clear. As the screen went to black, Fuji was nibbling around on Sei's neck and Sei was laying there like a rag doll, unresisting. Considering that the earlier sex scene between Higawara and Sei make it clear what was going on, I don't get why the director cut away from the alleged sexual assault so quickly, unless it was deliberately to leave what came next ambiguous.
Yes, Fuji apologized in the morning, but before the scene ended he already had a lot to apologize for. Given that Sei talks to Fuji and Hagiwara both in vague, non-specific, confusing language, anyway...what he said in reply didn't make anything clear to me. He's become so low-affect that it's hard to tell how he feels about anything.
@StarSoul414 You're joking, right? I see sex education still has a loooong way to go. Giving up on resisting physically…
lol I'm pretty sure you have no "sex life" other than touching yourself while you bang away at your keyboard as images of made-up sexual assault fill your little mind.
Can we stop romanticizing a sexual assault felon and serial abuser as "complicated"?
This is a crystal-clear example of your lack of intellect/knowledge/bias: "...the commentator here to which I replied characterized Fujisawa as "complex" which regardless of his backstory (even if it's a sob story) is romanticizing a predator..."
In no dictionary anywhere will you find a definition of "complex" that equals "romanticization." You are a non-thinking fanatic. I clearly stated that to EXPLAIN how someone who does a bad thing became the way they are does not EXCUSE the bad thing, yet here you are, flailing away still. Another sure sign of your anti-intellectualism is your need to perceive of matters in a black/white, all-or-nothing way, which frees you of the obligation to reason and think. The universe is gray. Lots of good people do bad things. Grow up.
So you're going for a second outrage-gasm, I see. It's getting messy in here...
@StarSoul414 You're joking, right? I see sex education still has a loooong way to go. Giving up on resisting physically…
Any body language expert will tell you that passivity can absolutely be a sign of consent, especially when exhibited by someone like Sei, who is very capable of non-passivity.
Your trendy mindset that everything is rape is what's audacious.
I have zero concerns about "exposing" myself on MDL. I've been around here awhile and made my opinions on this matter clear. I don't care what Church Ladies such as yourself think.
Can we stop romanticizing a sexual assault felon and serial abuser as "complicated"?
Please point out where anyone in this thread ROMANTICIZED sexual assault. Thanks, we'll wait.
I repeat: "Last we saw then, Fuji was nuzzling Sei's neck while Sei lay there passively and not in the least bit scared." It is deeply weird that you automatically interpret, and that apparently the writers of this show intended us to interpret, gentle neck nuzzling of a passive, supine, sober, coherent person as sexual assault. But then, you do sound like a weird person. There was NOTHING "explicit" about that scene. Like "sexual assault," you throw around words as if they have only the meaning you ascribe to them.
Finally...when are you going to admit you are totally getting off on your melodramatic outrage here. In leaving all these comments, have you managed to achieve climax?
And again, why are you still watching this deeply offensive show?
Are you CERTAIN that Fuji/Sei had sex? I don't think that's been made clear. And if they did, the idea that Sei…
More lame deflection.
"troll account..." lol I'm fairly certain you're using a dumb ass account. Your line of thinking is still giving the mentality of a dumb ass and I like that for you.
One question: Why do you not spell out the word "SEX?"
On his wrist there were marks of being gripped tightly and wrist is only gripped tightly when the someone don't…
Exactly. I hate when an otherwise well-done show falls back on cliche shorthand like hickeys and poorly-filmed bruised wrists to automatically read "RAPE!"
Are you CERTAIN that Fuji/Sei had sex? I don't think that's been made clear. And if they did, the idea that Sei…
Sei did NOT "literally" tell Fuji any such thing...are you deaf and/or blind to dialogue and subtitles. What he DID say was extremely vague and noncommital. I want you to tell me what was shown and heard that make it CLEAR there was sex, let alone assault. Not what you imagined in your head; what was there on the screen. It's weird that you see no difference between a conscious person fully in control of their faculties, and an unconscious person. Please explain how they are the same thing.
The rest of your comment is so stupid and tired, I won't address it.
Can we stop romanticizing a sexual assault felon and serial abuser as "complicated"?
Clearly, you're a fanatic and an idiot.
Please detail for us in what way the events and dialogue in this episode "romanticized" sexual assault...thanks, we'll wait. I guess I missed the scene after the alleged assault wherein Sei and Fuji lay in bed smoking and nuzzliing, and then flowers arrived which Sei had bought for Fuji thanking him for the alleged assault.
Please detail for us what you saw that made it clear there was assault or even sex? Last we saw then, Fuji was nuzzling Sei's neck while Sei lay there passively and not in the least bit scared. If that was a scene of assault, it is one of the most poorly written, directed, and acted ones I have seen. Sei didn't seem scared, he seemed annoyed.
Admit it, you're totally getting off on the alleged rape, and even more so on playing the self-righteous know-it-all in comments.
Oh, and why are you still watching this deeply offensive show?
@StarSoul414 You're joking, right? I see sex education still has a loooong way to go. Giving up on resisting physically…
The fact that unthinking morons like you exist is of genuine alarm. Sei was in danger of harm or death only in your mind and that of the bad writers/ director of this show. Last we saw of them, Fuji was nibbling gently on Sei's neck as Sei lay there passively, like a dish rag.
People like you who make everything into sexual assault are an insult to those who are genuinely sexually assaulted.
For me, that's a big part of what makes this show interesting.
Precisely. Frustrating and difficult-to-understand characters are fascinating to behold. But a loud minority on MDL want all characters to behave with one hundred percent perfection at all times. Snooooooooze...........
On his wrist there were marks of being gripped tightly and wrist is only gripped tightly when the someone don't…
Thanks for your perspective, Jenny. However, and I know this is partly a BL thing, wherein clues like the wrists are massively simplified. And how a neck hickey, which I got in jr. high, became rock-solid evidence or rape is beyond me.
I find your replies to me extremely rude. I'll be awaiting your prompt apology.

You disagree. I don't care that you do.
