What an uplifting, enjoyable ride with a cast of wonderful young actors doing their best.
The film has its faults and could have been improved in quite a few ways. However, and I am pretty damn picky, this movie has what a lot of much more technically proficient and somewhat better-acted movies do not, and that is HEART. Despite its shortcomings, I cared about these kids and their coach and that makes all the difference.
Park Hee Soon is his awesome self, though it was cool to see him enjoy himself in a markedly un-glamorous role. He's great. Ko Chang Seok is his usual rock of Korea too.
I'm bummed that the film ended where it did without taking us through the entire tournament, but whatever...

Thing is, does it really matter WHY Fuji has emotionally and mentally tortured Sei? The fact is, that is what he has done regardless of his "reasons." If his mommy is dead and his daddy ran off with another woman when he was a child and he was raised by rabbits in the woods as a result, blah blah blah, it changes nothing for Sei. The damage is done.
And who is going to censor films and series that don't meet YOUR definition of their "...moral obligation to be responsible..." blah blah blah...You sound like a lot of far-right church ladies who think it's their business to determine for others what it is ok for them to see.

The commenters here fantasizing about their teachers are just like the millions and millions of other humans around the world tonight having sexual fantasies that wouldn't meet your approval but which don't hurt anything but your fee-fees. The further I get away from episode 2, the worse this becomes in memory. I'm done wasting time on marginal or below BLs, even if they're NOT out of Thailand. I'm sorry to see Korea putting out more and more of these lame, fluff-coated stinkers. To my category of TOOTS (Turds Out Of Thailand) I guess I have to add TOOKs (Turds Out Of Korea). Lord, the acting, direction, dialogue, everything is terrible. I pulled out at 26 minutes when the BF was being beaten up by thugs who insulted the main kid for having gay parents. Not only was the useless kid standing there watching his BF getting hammered for defending him without lifting a finger to help, but his hilarious facial expressions in response were terrible. Add in the cartoon-style, Kung Fu fist-to-body sound effects, and it all became too much to bear. :D

She has done the opposite of that. She repeats her one-note approach to acting in everything I've seen her in. Why should she be paid big bucks for on-the-job training while other, much more talented actresses are passed over?
