Lol, you say the guy who is abusive, neglectful, controlling and just an ass to Sei is actually loving him? Only…
It's actually bizarre how hard you're working to make Fuji seem sympathetic despite his sadistic/controlling/abusive behavior. Oh well, maybe there will be some huge revelation that will explain all of that and we'll all go rushing to Fuji's side. Who knows? But I doubt it....
Oh yes, I was picturing them on the office table 😏❤️🔥
haha me too! Love the use of the glass wall to separate them. They can see each other but something invisible is keeping them apart. That said, Sei didn't call Hagisawa just to let him out of there...
The fact that Kaori can just pick up Kazuaki's phone and scroll through it looking at messages beggars belief.…
ummm...not disagreeing but a lot of phones can be set so they automatically turn off encryption in specific locations, such as an apartment or house, so the user doesn't have to deal with it at home. Plus, he hasn't had to worry about the psycho looking at his phone before because she's long been completely uninterested in him. I wondered the same as you but then realized it actually was plausible.
For those that have read the book, does it have a happy ending?
I will never, ever understand people who ask this question and others like it. Also, adaptations often vary widely from their source material, even in how they end.
Episode 5: Good heavens, this just keeps getting better and better...one of the best BLs I've seen and perhaps eventually the best of all out of Japan. This episode is of such depth and layering I'm going to need to watch it at least one more time to catch everything. The hotel scene and next morning dialogue had me guessing and wondering and going "what the hell...?" and then "but wait...what?" etc. over and over. Excellent writing.
"We're both crazy..." Truer but more joyous words are rarely spoken. Often, one has to go a little crazy to find peace and sanity on the other side.
Sei breaks my heart with how he's shut himself down, and how hard he works to pretend nothing hurts him and that nothing matters, when we know there's a tumultuous sea roaring inside him. :D (To be a tad melodramatic.) Also, Sei takes my breath away with that stunning chest of his; the most beautiful I believe I've seen on such a scrawny guy. Thank you, Ito Asahi.
Note to director: Two men cannot have butt sex face-to-face without the receptive partner raising his legs, preferably behind his ears. Please correct this blocking mistake going forward. That said, I love that they didn't kiss at all until the next morning when Hagisara finally couldn't control himself, when the last wall fell down. We built to that through the entire hotel scene the night before and then the smooch. Beautifully climactic and dramatic. Bravo.
I'm a bit bummed that the ever-so-tired top/bottom thing was predictably telegraphed and acted out here...not one ounce of imagination or creativity in that regard. Just once I'd love to see a BL surprise us in that way. It seems no BL director has ever heard the gay sexuality term "versatile."
I love that the two "partners" are becoming darker and weirder with each episode. Fujisawa having picked up Sei's phone and the way it was revealed to the viewer was majorly creepy and excellent. I actually gasped. :) How dare either one of them perform shock and anger at this point. Give me a break. Both are manipulative, sadistic douche bags. I actually laughed at the GF having smashed Sei's gift and rushed off in a huff, pretending to be all offended. Pleeeeeeeease...
Can't wait for ep. 6. Looks like we're going to finally see something resembling human emotion from the sadists.
"... as if we're in another BL fantasy world where everyone is gay and no one who isn't has a problem with it""Both…
Oh piss off, you know-it-all twit. I'm as gay as the Christmas Goose and know exactly what I'm talking about. You, on the other hand, have a self-righteous agenda the size of Mother Russia and chip on your shoulder even larger. I guess it's the deeply feared "Gay Agenda" the Christianist Psychos on the right are always shrieking about.
I carry with me plenty of open wounds and scars from being raised in a Christian closet and taught to hate myself every day of the week. You want to compete for who is most damaged? I'd beat your ass in a NY minute.
You're a tired cliche, a fanatic, and preachy as f**k. Take your "I'm superior because I am Super Gay Man" attitude and schtick and shove it. Go soak your head in a gay fantasy universe where everyone's gay and pink unicorns fly over rainbow-hued, puffs of cloud. Please keep it there until some of that bitchy anger is soaked out of you.
I've no interest in wasting time engaging with your type.
I think we can all agree that after Samul completed his training, he returned to Ansin to be at the side of his beloved, The Commander. The two of them ruled Ansin and all of northern Korea happily ever after.
But damn, the poor Koreans. Throughout history, if they weren't taking it from the Japanese to the east, they were getting hammered by the Chinese from the north. On and on, right up through WW 2 and the Korean War.
This is a potentially great historical war film, undercut by extreme implausibles/impossibles, in both technical/war and human relationship aspects. I almost dropped it half an hour in, but then it rapidly gained pace and kept my attention, until I started rolling my eyes at some of the absurdities. They are too numerous to list, and I don't want to spoil anything for those who may still want to watch it.
This is unfortunate, because the battle scenes were thrilling and expertly/convincingly rendered. CGI is top-notch. I saw nothing that looked fake, and there were plenty of opportunities for that to happen. Obviously, no expense was spared in the making of this flick. Awesome costumes/armor/etc also. If you're into battles for their own sake, go ahead and watch this.
Zo In Sung is fantastic as The Commander and all supporting players except for Nam Joo Hyuk are excellent. NJH is terrible, but seemed out of his depth at times, especially up against ZIS.
Even with all my whining, I'll still give this a solid C or 7/10 rating.

Seek a clue.
Also, stop "heart-ing" your own comments.
Get some self-awareness.
