He DID give her false hope, but it was as obvious as could be that he was simply using her to make Jeongha jealous. She made it clear through that pathetic dialogue about "knowing" Daeyong didn't love her. I'm not saying Daeyong is faultless here, but it takes two to create a situation like that. And she was willing to play the dupe.

Seriously, the "uncut" version of one of the early episodes I saw had about 45 extra seconds of making out, and we saw their shirts come off, then it faded to black. No hot sex, or anything else worth $3 a month.

I would argue that there are a LOT of people in the world who would do what you tell me daeyong has done (I haven't seen that episode yet), and for them it would be the most natural thing in the world to react that way.
You may be falling into the trap of assuming that because a behavior is PORTRAYED in a show, it is being CONDONED by the show. I don't agree with that at all. Of course, what you describe in a lousy behavior, but a great many people act that way. Donghae IS extremely self-controlled and coolly non-reactive. I could see him letting a kiss like that happen, but not reacting to it until it's over. No need to freak out and physically resist, perhaps. Just let it pass, then address it. In fact, a non-reaction to such a move might be a stronger statement of one's position, as in "Your kiss means so little to me that I don't even have a feeling one way or the other about it."
People often strongly over-react to things because in their heart it's exactly what they want, though they don't want anyone to know that. It's a form of projection.

I'm not saying every show has to be about cheating, but there are a thousand ways of making stories about that subject matter with an original twist/perspective or whatever to make them different from each other. Here, it does feel like seeing the same plot over and over.

You are silly. Stuff like this happens in real life all the time. Minji knew DaeYeong didn't love her, and she knew he was hot for the little guy. Her "I'm the victim" speech was absurd. I loved the way DY just kept staring her down, direct and no excuses.
