What's wrong with all these comments dumping on this "masterpiece"? You can't stand a Japanese BL being labeled…
You're the one spouting "nonsense." The MC romance was developing, then disappeared midway as if their kiss and flirtations never happened. And Maya is the most unnecessary character in BL history. Annoying af too.
The show is terribly written. Maya is a self-centered psycho who, instead of getting a hearing aid, walks around pretending she can hear and treating everyone like shit. Maya needs to learn to be nicer to people WITHOUT disabilities. The lesson I've learned from her story line is that deaf girls can be rude, nasty bitches too.
Another gem of an episode...The scene where Kohei was cutting onion was actually a heartache and not Sulphur that…
But as always, the Japanese mother totally ignored what Kohei was going through in that scene and made stupid happy talk instead. The Japanese squelching their emotions to such a degree is unhealthy af.
I find Japanese dramas of this ilk so beautiful but so utterly frustrating. In the most part, I adore Japanese…
ugh. Maya can suck it. :D I find her character a complete waste of time that should be going to the MC relationship, which suddenly screeched to a halt halfway through this show.
And YES! The thing with Japanese folks NEVER expressing themselves drives me nuts! Like Kohei's mom watching him cry, knowing good and well what's going down, but she makes some knowing, smiley face nods and ignores what he is going through. ugh again.
Maya the Midget is perhaps the most annoying/unnecessary side character I've encountered in a BL. And the director wasted ten minutes of this episode on her. Who cares about her background? She has zero relevance to the MC story, which has, sadly, become exceedingly lame. Plus, she is always belligerent and nasty to everyone but Kohei. I know I'm supposed to understand and feel sorry for her, but I do not. Not in the least. Get a freaking hearing aid and shut up!
It's as though the developing relationship of the MC just faded away at about the halfway mark of the series. What happened to the kiss? The flirtation? Taichi saying he might not mind if Kohei made a move on him? It's as if none of that happened. Weird.
Kobayashi Toranosuke is adorably handsome.
The onion scene and the two of them on the steps near the end were nice moments. Both leads are good actors, but this script went downhill and I blame Maya!
we don’t know if there will be cheating. Dae Young may be delayed in reacting because of shock or something.…
Wouldn't you agree there are "levels" of "cheating?" Would I be correct in assuming to you a kiss is less onerous than a BJ or out and out f**king?
All I'm really trying to say is we are all human and make mistakes. I have no idea how this story will go, but this dude did NOT set up a reunion with his ex. Suddenly, the guy was just THERE. And obviously there is a LOT of baggage between them, which we know next to nothing about. Most striking to me is how daeyong, who is normally in control, steady, and strong, turned to putty in the presence of his ex. I hope we find out why that is.
I have never "cheated" while in a relationship. But in art, theatre, movies, tv, books, fiction of all kinds, I am always intrigued by people like daeyong who fuck up, who move in the universe of grays between the black/white of the real world we live in.
One-of-a-kind, spell-binding film. Loved it, though I need at least two more watches to fully understand all of what's going on. Cause there's a LOT going on.

MDLers throw around the word "cheater" so loosely that it has lost its meaning here.
So, to you, kissing an ex in a situation you did not initiate, is "cheating," right? If that's true, then why not go ahead and f**k? it's all "cheating" anyway, right?
It's not a "slow burn" when we have 20 minutes left and the MC walk away from each other. If they reconcile in ep 12 it will be rushed and lame.

Devin Pan is a beautiful man.
Highly recommended.
