Which is ridiculous because those who have it done look no more Caucasian than they did before, they just look slightly different. How sad to want to erase your genetic origins from your face. This is especially bizarre to me because I see Asians in general as the most beautiful people on Earth.
There are a few weaknesses in the physical action scenes that could have been fixed, but this film worked for me. I don't generally get into "magical realism" such as this, but I was riveted throughout and moved to tears several times, especially at their reunion and again at the end.
The entire time I was screaming "TAKE A DNA TEST" and facepalming at that stupidity but the movie somehow still…
There were a number of plot weaknesses and I don't generally buy into magical realism like this, but the movie worked for me. I came to tears at least three times throughout. Kang Dong Wan is a great actor, as is the young girl.
