You're "...not interested enough..." to the extent that you replied to me with a substantial paragraph reacting to my comment. You seem pretty interested to me.

Is there some reason you believe a script has to jettison the very natural concept of sex in order to be about "...emotionality, growth, and emotional attachment of a first love?" Do you believe people who have sex when they fall in love don't feel strong emotions, growth, and attachment? If so, you're mistaken. In those circumstances, sex is a natural, and strong urge as an expression of the emotion being felt. That's why there are so many unintended pregnancies among young straight couples who become impassioned and throw condoms to the wind.

I never said that sex needed to be the "focus" of this story, those are your words. But sex, or at least the natural desire for sex, needs to be part of the story in order for it to be believable. If the characters feel that and then decide not to act on the desire yet, out of a wish to get to know each other better first, that would be fine, IF how that came about and how that choice was made was part of the narrative. In fact, including all of that would make this lame script, so dull and draggy, much more interesting. Instead, we're asked to believe these two young men simply don't have sexual feelings, which is absurd.

Since my comments bore you so desperately, I look forward to not seeing any more replies from you, as I'm sure you'll be skipping over my boring comments.

You didn't need to remind me you're not male. That fact is written all over your comments. You aren't interested in REAL young men, just neutered ones who make you feel safe from any icky boners that may arise, so to speak.

Why don’t you go watch PlayBoyys or better get some actual porn if you want boys to have sex constantly! You…
You're a little girl, and your reply is just as expected from one of your species. In one way, you are correct though: It IS the entire plot of this series that these are not young male characters as they exist in reality. It is a little girl's fantasy, full of unicorns and fluffy teddy bears, in which BL boys don't have normal sex drives and sex itself is considered nasty. Your position that sex would make the story un-"beautiful" is the dead giveaway.

I don't know what "PlayBoyys" is so I'll have to check that out, but I assure you I make the most of "actual porn" when I feel the need. That is not what I'm looking for from this show. The idea that there is a black BL world in which normal sex urges exist, and another white BL world in which it is nonexistent, leaves out the universe of gray in which we live. It's sad that the real world is so scary for you.

Finally, this makes clear that you are a sad little prude with no sense of humor:
"... don’t go mentioning you “pretended to be Taishin”, because that just sounds so wrong..." A fundamental aspect of fiction of any kind is that the audience naturally places themselves in the position of certain characters they identify with. Takara is a beautiful man, and his character is kind, sexy, and charismatic. It is the most natural thing in the world for me, as an audience member, to see myself in Taishin's position during the kissing scene.

You're a scared little person, unwilling to embrace their own sexual/romantic, and very natural, urges. What a barren life you're going to lead.

P.S. I keep watching, as I've said several times now, because I am enjoying it as a hate-watch, which is a real thing. I don't often indulge that urge, because most shows I dislike are Thai and they are SO extremely lame that I can't even work up an enjoyable level of hatred toward them. They more or less don't exist. But this one is Japanese, which means there are almost always enough quirky oddities among the dreck to make it bearable for 20-minute increments, what is what this show mercifully offers.

hahaha...just what I would expect from a sex-phobic little girl BL fan such as yourself. Don't be afraid of boys' boners. They are all around you every time you leave your home. Good lord. Thanks for the laugh.

If moved to do so, please quote me where I wrote that I think the show should be "only about sex." Thanks, I'll wait. :)

I have a bad feeling about Love Sick remake after watching the trailer.
I've had that feeling ever since I heard about the remake. What could be more unnecessary?
On Addicted Heroin Aug 30, 2024
This is so bad, and very Thai. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to drain all the blood out of the original Heroin Addicted and put up this dry, silly husk as its remake was out of their mind. All the sexy edginess, good acting, great direction, slight raunchiness, and heart that made the Chinese version a classic is gone here...just as expected. My worst fears have been confirmed.

All the usual trademark Thai annoyances are here: Stupid sound effects, wildly uneven vibe from scene to scene, two-second pauses between each line of dialogue, nasty trans girls. high school-grade over-acting, bad writing, meaningless scenes, bombastic war movie background music, cheap plastic surgery, and more; it's all been carefully inserted to fill that bloodless, dry husk mentioned above and presented as a remake of one of the best BLs ever made. And of course, it's horrendously bad.

I'm glad to see August Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong as Hero get to play a lead, as I noticed and liked him in whatever supporting roles I saw him in in earlier Thai shows. I wish he had been cast as the lead in a show with a good script and director.

OK, well, dropped after one and a half episodes. Enough is enough.

1/10

I wonder how bad the remake of "Love Sick" will be...

Episode 3:

This has become one of those many BLs I would be embarrassed to watch with my non-BL obsessed friends. They would know for sure that I was crazy.

All three actors are doing OK, except well, Choi Seung Jin IS portraying Jeong Ha as if he's about to fall asleep most of the time...but the writing and scenario is so stupid that they don't have a chance at coming out of this without looking like idiots.

We now know the girl is clairvoyant: "I knew he was thinking of someone else when we kissed..." lol

Disaster.

I like this show but I get what you're saying. My feeling is that the developing feelings between them was originally the focus, but now it's a side-story to other matters.

People complaining about the slow burn...Read the manga. The show is staying pretty faithful alongside the timing.…
Why does that matter? If the show is too slow for a person, it remains so even if the source material is also slow. Why would someone who finds the adaptation to be dragging, want to go read the draggy Manga? That said, I don't find this to be overly slow, though it is not a speedy watch either.
On I Hear the Sunspot Aug 29, 2024
Episode 10:

I loathe Midget Maya, but of course, loathing her is part of what makes this series enjoyable and angsty. I always get a chuckle out of this type of BL girl, who is unfazed by the fact that her crush is obviously gay; as though if she just gets HIS crush out of the way, the coast will be clear for her. She never seems to take into account that she is equipped with the wrong genitals for the situation.

Taichi is a wonderful character, a BL original, and the actor playing him is remarkable.

I have found it a bit confusing that in the beginning, the focus was on the growing attraction between the guys, but the last few episodes have seen us much more into the whole sign-language, job-or-college thing, as well as Kohei's struggle with not being dependent on Taichi so that he can be free, rather than the intensity I felt earlier regarding the relationship itself.

Whatever, this is a well-done show. Acting/direction is good, and I appreciate the high production values too. It's nice to see a college campus full of students, rather than barren and deserted, as in most Thai, off-the-assembly-line BLs.

I agree that the plot is not realistic. The most basic issue with this show is that Taishin's behaviour is unhealthy…
Beautifully stated. I agree with everything except your last sentence. This BL is terrible.

I myself thought several times that rather than naive Taichi seems to be an alien who knows absolutely nothing…
