Someone went ahead and edited a video on youtube and proceeded to call Maya a psychopath! The level of hate for…
I found five YT shorts dissing Maya. All were hilarious and spot on, in simply showing her for what she is by replaying scenes in which she is a total beeyatch. However, I never found a video that refers to her as a psychopath. Help? I do agree she's a psychopath though.
It's very acclaimed in Japan, has been ranking high on many polls and even on Twitter majority of international…
Thank you! However, I am computer illiterate. Is there a way to translate X or IG Japanese to English? I can't figure it out.
That said, I do understand why the singer making a hetero-themed MV for his song which originally accompanied a gay-themed show is not a good look. It's as if saying "I let my song be used for the fag show, but here's what I REALLY had in mind, so I wanted you to see this."
I'm sure the raging haters became incoherently hateful and vicious though, out of all proportion to what happened, which is what goes down on social media, right? That's why I stay off X and IG.
And saying "it's the same actor who played Kohei, but it's not really Kohei, it's another, straight character" is pretty lame. You can't establish a character with a specific actor in a show set to your music, then have him play a "different" character in an MV set to the same song and expect people to buy that BS.
I suppose the singer was trying to reach a wider, straight audience, but why then did he not also post a MV featuring Kohei/Taichi at the same time as the hetero one, rather than doing it only after he got slammed? Let's face it, he was distancing himself from the BL.
All of which is why I'd love to read what commenters and the singer had to say about this, so if you can help me out with translation, I'd be grateful.
we don’t know if there will be cheating. Dae Young may be delayed in reacting because of shock or something.…
You are correct, I did say that. Why does that matter? Everyone else in the world does not have to comport themselves the way I do, or make the choices I make, for me to empathize/sympathize with them. I am always interested/curious about why anyone does the things they do, just as I am about why daeyong turned to jelly in the presence of his smarmy ex.
I don't need to slap my moral choices onto anyone else. I do what I do, they do what they do. You might note I did not say that what is happening to daeyong could not possibly happen to me, because I, like him, am a human being with flaws and failings. I can conceive of myself, in a similar situation, giving way to a time-limited compulsion and then coming to regret it. This is called empathy.
I already explained above how labeling someone a "cheater" is an attempt to erase every other aspect of who they are and denounce them as "bad" based on what may be a brief lapse of judgment. Thus, I won't be repeating myself. People who scream "cheater!" at others are more interested in elevating themselves in their own estimation, and pretending they are of such firm moral fortitude that they could never, EVER, do the same thing.
It broke my heart to reminded of that beautiful, intense, emotional, and passionate scene between Kohei and Taichi under the footbridge in a rainstorm early on. I was thrilled by that scene, impressed with the acting and direction, and expecting great things going forward...but then all of that faded away and we were left with a story about a rude, bitter, and nasty deaf girl with a side-story romance-to-bromance between two guys who parted ways, even as friends, for no coherent reason at all.
Had the series maintained the trajectory it was on for a couple episodes after the footbridge scene, I was thinking I'd be rating it a 9.5/10, maybe even a 10/10.
If there's this level of hate. I'd say the writer did a brilliant job in portraying a character. It's the person…
Now I really want to see the video. And I have to disagree about the character. She was made so loathsome, annoying, and stagnant in her bitterness and abuse of others, the only people claiming to sympathize with her are doing so in the throes of what I have diagnosed as the "Bad Buddy Derangement Syndrome." They adore a show for delusional reasons, then their pro-show hysteria grows as a bulwark against the very justified dislike of the show. And that's how a BL that dropped the BL halfway through ends up with an absurd 8.6/10 rating.
You may very well disagree with me but...This series should not have been made .... There I said it . The Manga…
Yeah, I don't get the justification for its existence either. And obviously, the MDL LGs, whose admiration for a BL rises in direct correlation with the degree to which the guy-on-guy relationship stays obscure, are up-rating the shit out of this show. 8.6 my ass.
You're the one spouting "nonsense." The MC romance was developing, then disappeared midway as if their kiss and…
Nah, my money was well-spent, if only to help me understand where arrogant know-nothings such as you are coming from.
There's a possibility Jesus will come before the end of ep 12 too, but I'm not holding my breath. Who gives af about the Manga? This isn't the Manga, did you know that? This is an adaptation, got it? Seriously, "But, but...the Manga!!!" is one of the most common defenses of lame shows on MDL.

Because it's reductive and a cliche, that's why. MDLers scream "cheater" to signal their own virtue, not as any attempt to understand the character. "Cheater" is an easy label to slap on the character and dismiss them out of hand. It's lazy, self-righteous, and old.
I reply to others because I disagree with their opinion. That is part of what comment threads are for. I also reply to comments I agree with. I also ask questions if I don't get where someone is coming from. If you want to imagine I am "bothered," go ahead. I don't care.
omg...it called me a "troll." How will I go on?
I'm trying to imagine being stupid enough to reply to a comment left by someone I consider a "troll," but despite your example, I can't quite comprehend it.

Did you enjoy seeing your photo next to "supercilious? That is clearly where it belongs.
Maya is not complex at all. The writer allowed her no growth or change. That's not complex, it's dull. If you're saying she and the time given to her back story are intentionally dull, then that is also stupid.
And I don't require your lectures on the dynamics of drama, protagonist/antagonist, etc. I have a bachelors and masters in theatre. That's part of how I know this is poorly written.
"It's so simple to understand and I don't know where you keep getting lost." Just like Maya. A clueless bitch to the end.

Wow. And maybe you just make up stuff you want to see in your head and project it onto the screen.
Please explain why the writer would want me to hate Maya? Perhaps at first, but since then she has changed/grown not a whit, a bitch to the end. How does that help me identify with her and her situation, helping me to understand the plight of the deaf/hard of hearing?
Look up the word "supercilious" in your handy dictionary. There is a picture of you above the definition.
Could you explain how you see the Maya character as "useful?" I feel just the opposite. She is a complete waste…
oooh...those are all really good points. I do specifically remember during Kohei's monologue to her on the pedestrian bridge, thinking that without her for him to react to, there would be no way for us to know how deeply he felt, other than through internal monologue, something we see a lot of in Japanese series/movies, and which I almost always like.
I still wish she hadn't existed, but I see exactly what you're talking about, so thanks for that.
Where I feel the writer/director went WAY overboard was in the ten minutes they showed us of her background, all while we're dying for the Kohei/Taichi romance to go somewhere. I feel that was unnecessary.
Also thought, after her final scene with Taichi during which she doubled down and then ran away sobbing, it seemed odd that there script was giving that character NO growth or change whatsoever. After all he explained to her and did for her, despite her horribleness, you'd think even a semi-normal person would begin to see a bit of the light.

Which is BS.

Alas, it was not to be.

How' that?
"Simple" is correct. Fake critic!!!
Your last "...how do you know...?" scenario is desperate.
