agreed. this season felt so flat and predictable. don't like the direction they're taking this tbh.
I think the hilarious, unique high concept and the great acting of the ML carried the first season and part of the second. But yeah....this is lame.

u don't buy takara is attracted to taishin cus u rly think ur the ultimate judge of how other should feel about…
Oh look, another brainless, ten-year-old MDLer. How surprising.
Replying to Kittyen Jul 24, 2024
how tf are you alive? this whole comment in itself just sounds like an obsession, and you're talking about suicide…
Eh...I was going to answer in some depth, but I don't give a s**t what you think anyway, so why bother? You are a typical MDLer LG who has trouble distinguishing between live-action story-telling and real life. Which is your problem, not mine. Members like you are what's wrong with this place.

Stalking is, by definition an "unwanted" and/or "threatening" pursuit of someone. While the term is traced back…
Bravo, Maggi! As always, you laid it all out clearly and concisely. I don't like this show as much as you do, but continue watching for Takara's hotness and beauty. The mentally handicapped Taishin has worked my last nerve.

In what way? I think you should try watching at double speed; it makes the main character's slow speech easier…
hahaha...only on MDL would someone recommend watching a show at double speed to make it bearable. lol Why wouldn't you just stop watching something that lame?
Replying to tangoecho Jul 23, 2024
I don't get all the complaints about Taishin being too naive. Who cares? Its a BL, why are you expecting something…
Get out of here with your "queer cinema" BS. There are LOTS of BLs with intriguing and non-retarded characters and plots. Me, I keep watching this to look at Takara. If I want to bitch about how lame the rest of the show is, I'll do that too.

I don't get why people mad over 18 year old minor act liked teenager😓...the comment starting to became repetitive…
"minor," lol He acts like he's 12. That's the problem. "stop watching then" lol. Lamest defense ever for a show.
On Takara's Treasure Jul 23, 2024
After episode 4:
Increasingly has the feeling of an ABC After-School Special for intellectually handicapped teens.
I don't buy for a second that the character Takara would be attracted to the character Taishin.
Also don't buy this cutesy "Taishin-trying-to-figure-out-what-he's-feeling conceit, which so many lame BLs employ. A guy that age has a sex drive and presumably, a brain. He already knows he is attracted to Takara. This is where the intellectual handicap part of the plot kicks in.

Increasingly, I'm seeing Taishin as a mildly attractive, young Lesbian.

There is zero chemistry between the MC. At most, it feels like an older/younger brother thing.

The bias/stan subplot was super childish and lame. However, it made me realize that a truly twisted, obsessive bias/stan/stalker kind of subplot would work great as a BL subplot or even the primary plot. I mean dark and psycho to the point of kidnapping...would be awesome. It should probably be in a Kbl though; that's where the most intense/psycho kpop/actor stalking goes on. The stalker could start rumors about the idol and drive him to suicide, which happens about once a week in Korea anyway.

I'll keep watching for the beauty and hotness that is Takara.

Pretty sure you didnt understand the sequence of the story. You need deep un derstanding to learn the movie's…
hahaha...yes, it's undoubtedly true that you are far more perceptive than I and this film is simply far beyond my ability to comprehend it. Not.

If you love aalcc you should watch "bleak night" focuses on teenage struggles with powerfull storytelling
Interesting. I dislike AALCC immensely but Bleak Night is one of my favorites. It's all in the differences in HOW the stories are told. To me, AALCC is pretentious and impressed with its own artsiness, while BN tells an intense, dark story but is not obnoxiously artsy about it. There are some time-flips, but they're handled in a comprehensible way. Not so with AALCC.

This was very comforting and traumatizing to watch. Although, the story was very hard to understand so I would…
How can something be both "comforting" AND "traumatizing?" Aren't those opposite reactions?

I understand why everyone loves this movie. The world is different now.
Not everyone. I find it pretentious and dull.

Me too. Make It Right is hilarious, especially in the early episodes. I loved all the juvenile toilet humor. :)

I agree wholeheartedly, and you put it very well.
The first time I watched this movie, and I have only ever seen it on my computer screen, I was gobsmacked with emotions from all directions in addition to being blown away by all aspects of the production, acting/direction/fight choreo/exterior, large-scale battle scenes/cinematography/everything.

That was four years ago and I have watched AFF at least four times. I am American and I had just discovered Asian cinema/gay cinema/BL, of which I was completely ignorant. Being a typical, insulated American, I had never even considered checking out Asian movies. They were totally off my radar screen.

But I'm an avid film watcher, so as I ran out of American gay films to watch (80% trash) I gradually began searching out European and Latin American films, mostly on Youtube. Then, once I'd accepted the concept of subtitles (I remember thinking my entire life before this that I would NEVER watch something with subtitles lol) and watched tons of those films, I stumbled across AFF on Youtube of all places; and it wasn't a censored version either. It may have been the first Asian feature film I ever watched.

I spent two hours in my armchair gasping and crying and freaking out at
what I was seeing. My brother was in the same room watching TV and thought I was losing my mind. lol After that, I opened wide to Asian cinema and some dramas (I find most trashy and overwrought). Now it feels weird to watch an English film without subs. :)

Title Help Me
Another great Korean short film starring the great Korean actor Kim Bum Tae.
I can't believe this guy doesn't have a much longer filmography. He's remarkably talented. Please see him also in "Out of Focus," in which he is as effective a hilariously obnoxious film student as he is a melancholy, failed job-seeker here. It's on Youtube.

As always, the MDL rating for this film is obscenely low.

If you have a brain and a heart, this film will touch both profoundly.

9.5/10

This dude is hilariously excellent as the very drunk, and obnoxious, friend and fellow film student of the student director in the unique and hysterically funny short, "Out of Focus." It's on youtube. I gave it a 9.5/10 and this guy's a big part of the reason. He's the funniest, totally wasted character I've seen. Completely, horrendously obnoxious and yet also naturalistic. Bravo!

This guy is almost unbelievably hilarious and excellent as the obnoxious friend of a student-director in the absolutely unique short film, "Out of Focus." Check it out on Youtube. I've watched it three times now, and each watch is funnier than the last.
