I got to that point almost two years ago and gave up on Thai BLs. The last one I found watchable was Moonlight…
I am definitely going to give it a go here soon. With all these people singing its praises in comments, I'd be stupid not to, right?

Thanks for the input!

I agree about MBM and this one.

I'm glad you enjoyed my contributions to whatever discussion you read there. I do remember the body-builder thing. As if kiyoi looked anything like a body builder. :D

I admit, I do really sink into the BLs that I find engaging, and they're engaging because they're well-written, acted, and directed, and there's a beating heart at the core of the show. That goes for any film or drama. It won't surprise you to learn that I generally despise "fluffy," juvenile dramas like Bad Buddy or any of the other horrible BLs Thailand is pumping out these days.

I respect your taste but I don't think there's no need to bring it up there? Just commenting this show, right?…
Oh well...you do you and I'll do me, OK?

I vaguely remember the abs discussion but I don't know what would be arguable about abs, you know? :) Oh well, I'm usually up for a spirited debate regarding something I find interesting.

Are you an idiot? There is NOTHING to this story. MDL should never have published it. The agency investigated…
"You justifying bullying people to off theirselves is beyond rude."

Ummm...this is the exact opposite of my position on this matter, you dunce. I'll assume that English is your second or third language, or that you have cognitive disabilities, in which case I'll let it slide because you are, whatever the cause, of limited intellectual capacity.

Go write to someone else.

Woah. Truly thought that MDLers are more mature than that. No evidence but people are ready to cancel her. I guess…
Bravo!!! Korea's celeb suicide cult has learned nothing at all from the dozens of entertainer suicides over the last 25 years. We lost Lee Sun Kyun just three months ago, and regarding Korea's "scandal" industry, it's as though he never existed or died by suicide after being harassed, humiliated, and canceled.

I'm worried for Yoo Ah In, who they've been after for a year now. Next month will be the first anniversary of the suicide of popular K-Pop idol Moonbin at the age of 25. The netizens and psycho fans just go on as if it never happened and start hacking away at their next victim.

Horrifying.

As many MDLers who despise me know, I rarely hesitate to "comment more." :D My Beautiful Man is high-up on my Top 30 Best BLs list. Great show.

Exactly all the time.... felt man bad buddy is overreacted.. atleast somebody has to agree with this
It's one of many Thai BLs that feel like Disney TV afternoon specials for kids.

Don't waste your energy on these psycho, Korean celeb/fan suicide cult members.

"Either way, she was a bad person in the past."

That moronic statement is all you need to read to understand that this person is intellectually limited and immature.

Hmmm...thanks for the input. I appreciate it. Perhaps I will give it a shot when I'm desperate for BL and have watched everything else. :) I can't imagine a Thai BL doing justice to a plot like that. Costumes, sets, and period details from a hundred years ago is not easy to pull off.

Thanks again.

I read the synopsis for "I Feel You Linger In the Air" and that was enough for me to take a pass. I'm not big on time travel, supernatural, and other gimmick-based BLs. I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

I'm not saying there are no good Thai BLs. There are lots of them, but they mostly were made more than two years ago. I have eight Thai BLs on my top 30 fave BLs list, but they're all oldies.

Yuan's smart and Lili talks A LOT. It's possible that may be Lili mentioned how Qian had changed alot since Y…
I get that. I just think it would be a better strategy to play it cool for a while. Be polite and courteous, but back off on expressions of intimacy/love. Let Qian see what it's like to have Yuan around but not be the center of his attention. It's clear Qian wouldn't like that at all. :)

I love love this drama , first time commenting here , thai bl have become an eye sore
I got to that point almost two years ago and gave up on Thai BLs. The last one I found watchable was Moonlight Chicken. Thailand is making the classic business mistake of flooding the market with quick-shot products to make quick money. As a result, the quality of individual products goes way down as the quantity increases. In the end, they've saturated their target consumer with low-quality products, thus their value decreases.

Which brings you here to this page, where we're all freaking out at how well-made THIS product is. I "love love" this drama too.

Wow. This is the best BL I've seen in quite a while. I'm impressed with everything from acting and direction to cinematography and set design. Some of the scenes, especially at the river, are feature film-worthy.

I'm happy to see the overwhelmingly positive response and high ratings for this show here on MDL. I'm so used to pathetic Thai BLs, their comment sections (which I don't go to because I don't watch Thai shows anymore.) full of squealing fujoshis, rating abominations like "Bad Buddy" a 10/10 and calling it a "masterpiece." Lord help us.

Mild spoilers:

The Lili-San Pang reveal scene was hilarious. A meat cleaver, for god's sake! lol I love the way Qian calmly takes off his glasses, goes to the kitchen, and returns with a deadly weapon. hahaha Then the panic to remove all sharp objects from the house...lol

As Qian, Chris Chiu is great at projecting powerful emotions with very little face/body movement. And yet that body could kick some people's asses. He's like a mountain lake on a calm day: The surface is smooth as glass, but below the water is dark and currents flow.

I'm a bit surprised at how Yuan is behaving. I thought he'd be more stand-offish for a while.

My god, that preview.

I LIKE YOU !!YOU CHOOSE USE YOUR BRAIN ON THIS MATTER THIS SHIT SO CALLED VICTIM WITHOUT PROOVE/ REAL IDENTITY…
Thanks, Find Me!

The suicide of popular and famous Korean actor Lee Sun Kyun has stirred up a bit of a storm there. The director of his film "Parasite" and many other well-known actors and producers held a press conference, demanding an investigation into who on the police force leaked information to the media. They also trashed Korean netizens, social media, and news media, demanding accountability for publishing the illegally leaked information.

Korean celeb/fan suicide culture is so ingrained there that it will take a long time to change anything. MDL publishing this article is an example of that. They think spreading unproven accusations made by an anonymous accuser is a legitimate thing to do. No ethics at all.

On edit: I'm hoping people like LSK's widow and celebrities themselves, start suing law enforcement and media outlets responsible for this shit.

That's a good Idea. I really want her to make an article on this topic
It will never happen. Ignoring the problem is a huge part of Korean celeb/fan suicide culture and this site leans heavily Korean. I've tried to figure out who "owns"MDL and where it is based, with no luck. But Korean shows seem to get the bulk of attention here, don't you agree?

I had an experience very similar to this in college.
This superb little film captures the melancholy sadness overlaying the whole thing.
Excellent acting.

How about skipping all those steps with this simple trick1. Don't hurt others
"Everyone should seek psychiatric help if thinking about harming their self."

Is this supposed to be news to me.? The problem in Korea is that there is STILL a huge stigma attached to seeking mental health treatment. If this actress did so, and a paparazzi snapped a pic of her going into a psychiatrist's office, then THAT would be the next scaling up of the "scandal." The media and public would go wild.

"Blackmailing people with suicide to escape from bad deed doesn't work in this day and age."

What the hell are you talking about? What Korean celeb that you know of has threatened suicide to mitigate an ongoing media frenzy? I'm going to name Korean celeb suicide victims off the top of my head...

Lee Sun Kyun
Moonbin
Kim Jonghyun
Cha In Ha
Park Yong Ha
Sully
Goo Hara
The rapper Iron
Choi Jin-Sil "The nation's actress"
Choi Jin-Sil's younger brother, less than a year later
Roh Moo Hyun Korean president

In NOT ONE of these cases did the deceased mention "suicide" to anyone, much less "threaten" suicide to gain sympathy. Goo Hara had two prior attempts, I believe, but in no case did she "threaten" that she was going to do what she did.

In every case above and, keep in mind I pulled these off the top of my head, NO ONE had any warning of what was to come. Korean celebrity suicide victims tend to be very efficient in performing the act: They make a decision, tell no one, and go about the business of killing themselves. On occasion, a note is found afterward.

So, again: What the hell are you talking about? Based on the perspective you seem to have on this topic, I'm beginning to think you're 14 years old.
