CNN did an article on how Korea's "Celeb Shame & Suicide Factory" has already caused Hollywood titans and Netflix…
If I could reach through my computer screen and give you the smack in the face you deserve, you would be on the floor right now. You are a disgusting piece of human trash, passing judgment on a dead man who was driven to despair and suicide by people like you.

Are you proud of yourself? Please reflect on the rank stupidity of your thought process, what little of that there is. You are helping to kill people.

crime victim or CRIMINALs like Lee Geung-young
You are a slime bucket. Lee Geung Young received a suspended ten-month sentence, paid a fine, and did 160 hours of community service after being convicted of the silly, trumped-up charges against him. Plus, this happened ELEVEN years ago. He has paid his debt to Korean society for what he did, which wasn't much of anything, and for three years got no work at all.

Then gradually, beginning in 2005 he began to get a part here and there, and now he is back in the game full-time, as he should be. I'm glad to see it, as he is one of Korea's greatest actors. I'm also glad to see the Korean film industry recognizing that there is no reason whatsoever that he shouldn't be working.

Is it your belief that people who commit "crimes" and who pay their debt to society as a result, should never be able to work again? The incident has nothing to do with you. Get a life.

I am so glad JJM is finally returning in front of a camera. Hopefully it’s a first step to so much more. It’s…
Well said. The moron in this comment section who is continuing to drag JJM and is now trying to trash another actor/celeb by inserting his name here, is a great example of the sick, twisted Korean celeb/fan/netizen culture that has killed so many talented people.

he was trash talking and also involved in trash activities ...I dont think criticising such trash people is wrong
Of course you don't. You are a self-righteous Korean, netizen-type psycho who sees herself as being in a position to judge the conduct of others, even when the evidence of said conduct is obtained illegally. Do you lead a perfect, flawless private life? If not, shut up.

i hope you dont care when those things happen to you tooand he is middle age ugly looking man
There are a great many middle aged Korean actors who are hot as hell, and JJM is one of them. This is an unflattering photo of him, however, which is why, I'm sure, MDL chose it to accompany this garbage article.

"i hope you dont care when those things happen to you too..."

Idiot. NO ONE would have known what was said between these two men in private, had JJM's phone not been hacked and the hackers subjected him to blackmail, JJM told them to shove it, so they released the texts to Korea's trash media industry, who then broadcasted the conversation all over the world. If anyone's tender feelings were hurt by what was in those texts, it's the fault of the hackers, the SM sites, and Korean media, not JJM.

Finally, JJM apologized to the people whose feelings might have been hurt, and that should have been the end of it. There was nothing illegal in any way about this tempest in a teapot, thus it's none of your f**king business.

Hell!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Such a good actor! When will fans learn to respect actors privacy. What’s…
She doesn't know anything at all. She's just keeping that cauldron of self-righteous suspicion at a low simmer in case JJM steps out of line again and she and the other netizen freaks can turn the heat up to boiling. This commenter sees nothing at all wrong in the way she thinks.

Thanks MDL for being just as slimy as you always are. I mean, Jesus effing Christ, anyone who had their private…
Bravo! I agree completely. It is the "writer" of this trash article, "lo_ve," who puts up most of these sleazy hit-pieces that focus on unproven accusations and treats them as gospel. She's disgusting and also a terrible writer. Her butchering of English is always a treat.

Please write her a note, as I did, and ask her to stop putting up such attack garbage. However, I'm pretty sure she's Korean and so steeped in the sick celebrity-destruction culture that she is not capable of understanding how what she does is wrong.

this is a very uncalled-for and rude thing to say. in the same comment you called her a bad actress and you’re…
Actually, I called her a "lousy" actress, which she is.

Exactly. However, it's becoming downright creepy how many of them really do have the same basic plastic surgery-style nose. You can spot it in an instant; the "ski slope," along with an unnatural narrowness, a combo only a plastic surgeon can provide.

So what I don't get is how you further your career by making yourself look more like all the other Korean actors/performers who have had the same work?

I'm an American of Germanic descent. I find natural Asian features, male or female, to be the most beautiful in the world. The monolid/epicanthic fold eyelids are a huge part of that beauty. I hate seeing so many of them undergoing dangerous surgical procedures in a vain effort to look more like me. It's not as though after the double eyelid surgery so many of them have, anyone's going to mistake them for a Swede or Anglo Saxon. It's absurd.

This phenomenon also seems to betray a sad insecurity inherent in the way many Koreans feel about their natural Asian looks. Why would they want to look more Western if they liked looking Asian? Like I said, this bums me out. I sigh a little every time I see a nose job in a Korean film I'm otherwise enjoying.

There's one actor in particular who was drop-dead handsome. Then the next time I saw him he had a ski-slope, plastic surgery nose. Now I find it hard to look at him. All I see is his face covered in bandages after he went under the knife, and I wonder why he did it.

Gosh, thank you for your illuminating reply. I had no idea it was their choice. I thought someone put a gun to their heads and made them get new noses and new eyelids. Oh, and I also had no idea their bodies were, you know, theirs. I thought their bodies belonged to a Norwegian business conglomerate or an Ecuadorian drug cartel.

I am always so grateful when MDLers far more intelligent and informed than me drop in with comments as enlightening as yours. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now that I've expressed my gratitude for your providing me with information I otherwise would have never gleaned on my own, I'd like to most politely ask a question: Is there anything at all in my comment above that implies Korean actors and idols do not have ownership of their own bodies? If you find that implication, could you point it out to me so I can see it too? But I'm pretty sure it's not there. Thus I have no idea who the f**k you think you're replying to, cause it's sure as hell not to me

Actually, it's irrelevant who owns these peoples' bodies, and there's an argument to be made that in many cases it's their agencies who own them, what they do to them bums me out. Kind of like I originally said.

But I guess if you saw someone on the street cutting their own leg off with a chainsaw, you'd pass on by saying, "their body, their choice." Wow, you are so philisophical and shit.

Lord, the stupidity.

Title Sunflower
Kim Rae Won is a damn good actor.
Kim Hae Sook is a damn good actress.

This is a damn bad movie.
Countless, HUGE plot holes and stupidities in the actions taken by various characters, including the mother, in the way they stood up to the bad guys, but then had zero backup plan to follow through. The story makes no sense. You have to squint through all the implausibilities and lame writing to even begin to pretend this flick is well put together. It's a mess.

I say this with regret, as I have great respect for the two actors above. I hope both got paid big bucks for doing this terrible film.

Question: Is Tae Shik intellectually disabled? If so, how did he become that way? If not, why does he act as though he is so half the time?
Question: Is the sister also intellectually disabled or is Heo Yi Jae just a bad actress? If she is not disabled, why does SHE act as though she is so half the time?
What is the point of the mother standing up to the bad guys if there is nothing to prevent them from reacting as they predictably did?
What is the point of so many plot points that to list them here would take the rest of my evening?
Why didn't the new club, Oracle, seem to have a bar? lol
Even the final showdown fight, which should have been epic, was utterly ridiculous in its staging, choreography and execution. Only lame yakuza-style flicks feature fights in which the bad guys stand back and take on the good guy only one-by-one so he can kick their butts, one-by-one. Why not gang-rush him?

Not recommended. 5/10

Anyway, this is awful, unless you enjoy turning your brain function dial to 0 and enjoying the sight of Kim Rae Won as a (mildly retarded) badass trying to turn over a new leaf against the odds.

lol Hi Moon. I'm flattered. Please feel free to send flowers. :)

As for the arguing, it's sort of a hobby, to take on these MDL morons and keep asking questions and pointing out flaws in their silly positions until they fall apart and resort to personal insults and other misdirection, which is when I know I've won.

To drive them to that point without obscenities and creative name-calling myself, is an exercise in self-control I don't always entirely succeed in. I'm known to use "moron" and "idiot" on occasion. :)
