See, here's the deal with you pearl-clutching prudes: This film doesn't ask you to "enjoy assault," not even close. The viewer is free to respond however they respond. But in THIS STORY, the conductor rapes the violinist, the violinist is clearly traumatized and upset about it, but in the end chooses to re-engage with the conductor, if only for the benefit of the orchestra.
In your mind, does that mean that you are being asked by the film to "enjoy" this process and outcome? Does seeing the assault onscreen make you want to go out and rape someone? Do you imitate everything you see in live-action fiction stories?
Do you ever watch murder mystery dramas or flicks? Does the fact that the plot includes a murder, maybe even shows it on the screen, does that mean you are being asked to "enjoy" the murder?
If a movie features a violent robbery, does that mean you are being asked to "enjoy" the violence and theft?
Ummm..no, it does not.
The violinist in this story does what he does, and the viewer is free to react to that, talk to other people about it, and maybe alter their perspective about such a situation or not at all. What a mature viewer does NOT do is shriek, "oh my god, there's a violent sexual assault in this film, performed by actors on a film set, not in real life, but anyway I'm going to freak out about it and insist that rape should never, ever be included in any piece of fictional storytelling forever and ever!"
That would be what an immature, pearl-clutching prude who thinks they have the right to go through life without ever experiencing discomfort when engaging with fictional stories, would do.

Nice. A pleasant but not outstanding BL drama. The plot is something I haven't seen before, so that's good. Felt a little slow in spots, but I kept watching, so something was pulling me along.
Episode 8: Takaaki is never more at peace than when given orders by Naoya. I love the look that comes over his face before he utters "understood." At that moment, he knows his purpose in life, and he likes it.
Takaaki has his own Servant Prince at the office. The dad saying "understood." Has anyone else noticed that the Evil Dad is the same actor playing Bar Mama in another Jbl, "Ordinary Love?" It's fun to enjoy him portraying two very different characters, and doing it well.
Naoya's dimples. Why did I become verklempt when Naoya and his fellow restaurant workers were celebrating their accomplishment?
Only two regrets: There could have been less focus on the business stuff, but maybe I'm wrong and that was entirely necessary. We didn't get to see Naoya ditch those horrible hair extensions. :P
Episodes 5&6: A mildly humorous and pleasant watch. I usually dump BLs with silly supernatural-type plots, but this one doesn't bug me. Chao Nan continues to amuse. The leads have nice chemistry, but nothing spectacular yet.
I appreciate that we're getting two episodes per week. The second one feels like Christmas. :)
That said, this is a huge part of what's wrong with the Korean entertainment/media complex: "...the heavy and cautious process of seeking the public's forgiveness and understanding and rebuilding their trust." It is not the public's place to "forgive" anything. The "public" is full of people with secrets, bad behaviors, transgressions out the wazzoo. When the "public" is itself perfect, then we can talk about whether anyone needs to seek its forgiveness.
And THAT said, I hope most of this statement is simply blah blah blah boilerplate the agency knows it needs to put out there so the Korean media can play its usual games of pretending it's in some righteous position to monitor Yoo Ah In's behavior. He will be watched with psycho hawk eyes.
And all THAT said...I hope Yoo has a solid team of people around him that care for him as a person, not a source of income. I hope he remains in an active program of recovery for the rest of his life. And I wish him all the very best of everything.
