Lots to like, lots to mock. Creature effects would have been awesome were it 2006, but it's...2026, so they're mostly lame. Why are the green alien monsters wearing Dollar Store Halloween witch's wigs? Should have cut an hour from the runtime and put that $$$ into effects.
Why are there so many different kinds of aliens, if they all came together? How has that huge spherical space ship been out in the woods, clearly visible from above, for what appears to have been many years? How did Earth satellites or radar not pick up the HUGE "Emperor's ship" which has apparently been hovering over the Earth all this time?
Just a lot of sloppy/lame storytelling choices, which happens a lot when a director films his own screenplay. Who's going to tell him about the parts that suck? Tone/story all over the place, and not in a good way. Good acting, but it's wasted.
Last half-hour is obviously all about setting up some sequel franchise, which is annoying. Better to make a great FIRST movie, THEN worry about any to follow.

I agree, TTH was good, though I feel like it lost its way toward the end and took the cowardly way out of the story. I feel like it peaked in that glorious bathhouse scene about halfway, and it was downhill from there. I ended up rating it 8/10.
I didn't care for Shine and dropped it after about two-and-a-half eps.

Thing is, for me his face is definitely fascinating, but I can't bear to look at it for more than a few seconds; he's so odd-looking, almost alien-like. I think it's the three-quarter profile line from over his huge cheek implants, down to the hollow below his cheeks, then swooping down and out over the jutting chin implants that disturbs me the most.
Add to that the HUGE lips and strange nose job, and it's disorienting af. I'm an artist and do a lot of portraits, so I'm always instinctively looking at faces, and this one pains me.
Most horrifying of all is that a young person who was probably good-looking to begin with actually did this to his face. My god. I shudder at what he's going to look like by the age of 40. Because once someone goes this far, they usually don't know when to stop.
