You have sorely missed out on an absolute masterpiece. Maybe give it another go?
Just read your review. I note your passion for the show, and you are entitled to it, but nothing you wrote changed my opinion at all; quite the opposite.
There are a thousand full-budget movies/series that have done what this show attempts to do, but fails at. And the "romance" here is on the level of a Chinese censored bromance, and god knows I loathe those.
But, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.
Oh...I do agree that Boy seems to be an outstanding actor with presence/charisma. Sad to see it wasted.
I can’t say I’m impressed by Gyeon stealing a kiss, given his buddy was trolleyed, and pretty much passed…
Get a life. Gyeon was also drunk, a fact you've conveniently eluded here. Doha fell into Gyeon mouth-to-mouth, ergo DoHa sexually assaulted Gyeon. Gyeon responded, thinking that's what doha wanted. Besides, he's drunk so he's not responsible for anything he did either. Or do we have to have them both breathalized to see who's drunker so we know who to tell the cops to arrest?
Im also Team Gyeon from ep 1 and i want him to be the Doha's end game. Okay I see so many people moral policing…
They are also ignoring that Gyeon was drunk too. DoHa fell into Gyeon with his mouth on his, so actually, it's totally DoHa who "sexually assaulted" Gyeon, right? :D
This might have a spoiler (?), so read at your own accord."When the peach blossom blooms, it attracts butterflies,…
Great comment, full of insights. Thanks.
However, your wisdom deals with real life, ie. shades of gray, and MDL Little Girl Prudes only understand black/white. So, don't expect to convince any of the "omg, Gyeon totally sexually assaulted DoHa on the stairs!" people. They're children.
The "drunk kiss" or "kiss while one person is sleeping" troupe seems so common in Korean BLs I've…
It's the tight-ass MDL Prudes who are creepy. They are baffled by any human action that isn't 100% pure white. Can't deal with shades of gray; not at all.
This story is so basically simple, but the scenario allows for endless permutations, particularly because the acting/direction is so appealing. All these tight closeups of gorgeous, Korean male lips are making me sweat.
Looking forward to scrolling below to see how many MDL prudes accuse Best Friend of "sexually assaulting" Do Ha on the steps near the end. lol
I used to whine about getting shit-faced being such a tired trope in Kbls, but the truth is, Koreans DO drink like that IRL. Getting bombed almost every day after work or classes is standard. Highest rate of alcoholism among OECD nations. Think of all the bad choices made every night in Seoul as the result of booze. lol
Episode 2: This may change, but right now, I'm rooting for the best friend. He's been pining for Do Ha a long time, and these two other guys sniffing around is giving him cause to do what he's been too hesitant to do so far.
The show is alarmingly fluffy (I say "alarmingly" because I generally loathe fluff), but with enough of a naughty edge to keep me interested. It's absurd, but also cute, that Do Ha is clueless as to what's going on. ;) Seriously, why not solve this problem by forming a "quadrouple?" I'd do all four.
Surprisingly intriguing first episode. It began with so many cliches I figured it was headed for my "dropped" list, but maybe not so fast...we shall see. The actor playing Do Ha is laying on the "I'm just an innocent bottom/salary boy in oversize sweaters/butter wouldn't melt in my mouth vibes a bit heavily, but oh well...
My fave part was the fortune-telling lady. lol Her vibe, hilarious acting, and vertically offset eyes freaked me out in a good way.

Gyeon was drunk too. DoHa fell into Gyeon and put his mouth on his, so you've got it backwards!!!!!!!!!
A lot of MDLers need to get real.

Yep, still Team Jujitsu here.

No one has ever used that term on MDL before. :D
