i loved this drama with my entire heart, i really do.
but the ending in my opinion, was unnecessary and pulled in all sorts of directions simply for a second season. I still hold the strong belief that this drama could have concluded in one absolutely phenomenal season. But it’s the Hong sisters and their greed for more that prevented this.
and with the departure of jung so min, I genuinely cannot feel the same interest I once had for this show. It went all over the place the last few episodes. So I will continue to support AOS and the cast (kudos to all of them!) but I don’t think I’ll continue. I like the ending of ep 19 as it was - and to me that’s my finale.
the way some of y’all love the handsome rival male interests that “give me butterflies” but somehow dislike the female character that has only appeared for two episodes - double standards at its finest …
1. At the end of the day, it was always JSM that stood out for me - that and her excellent chemistry with LJW. Do I actually have a problem with GYJ substituting her as the main lead? No. But would I continue watching? Perhaps not. I loved the romance between Naksu as JSM and Janguk as LJW, not anyone else. And I cannot deny that it would disappointing for that to change. 2. I genuinely have no idea what the plans for this drama is. Interestingly, the mystery is what keeps me on my toes. I anticipate the episodes every week not knowing what will happen next. It’s also one of the few dramas that has an ending I have no clue of. But there is a limit to how much questions I can take. We’re currently not even aware of the main leads for the drama at this point. That’s insane. 3. Seoyul will not be the main lead no matter what route the drama takes lol. His stans need to give it up already. Dude is as stale as bread.
TLDR; not very happy about the news. Hong sisters need to sort their shit out because there’s no point building a whole universe and then not knowing how to proceed. I will definitely support GYJ and her charisma, but ultimately not continue watching it live if she takes over.
episode 8 is hands down my absolute favourite to date - everything about it was perfect, i truly loved it down to the last moment. (the fact that i can say this every week shows just how great this drama is tbh)
i’m sorry but this weird love relationship between seoyul and mudeok has got to go - they can put as many emotional osts and cram as many flashbacks as they like and it will still be a snoozefest for me … i just don’t want to see the damn bird whistle again on my screen (even next week gosh)
Wow … Episode 4 reached peak all time viewership (not to be confused with nielson) of 11.81%! Today’s average of about 10%+ is also the highest so far if i’m not wrong.
after watching the (presumably) new previews I have to say, I’m not happy at all with the upcoming love triangle. It’s completely redundant in my opinion - and the plot can definitely flow smoothly without it. Are the Hong sisters aware that you don’t need a second love interest all the time? lol
it’s ok to be upset at certain similarities presented in the drama - and I think silencing these frustrations will only make it worse. However, it is extremely childish to continuously camp under this page just to write borderline hate comments. Will your subtle jabs at the actors and crew (who worked hard regardless) change anything? No. It is incredibly frustrating as someone who wants to have a discussion about the drama, scrolling only to find people who don’t even watch it spamming the comments.
And like I said, I definitely see the similarities. But frankly speaking as chinese myself, it’s insane that aspects such as using blindfolds are now part of a culture. The same goes for the weird comparisons of promotional posters. I say this because there’s a limit to what exactly you are accusing. Throwing out random points will only downplay the issue because no one takes it seriously.
Finally, I hope the backhanded and racist comments stop. And i mean that for both parties. I’ve seen tweets such as suggesting koreans are “poor and live in slums unlike in cdramas”. Which I honestly find very disrespectful. You can be upset and still acknowledge their rich culture. The same goes for certain remarks that are downright racist. You can defend the drama logically without stooping so low.
TLDR; from what i’ve seen here, both parties are annoying and childish. Grow up and stop arguing like 4 year olds on the internet.
since WRTW has ended, I’d like to say something. i know i’m bringing a lot of negativity here and i’m sorry but i can’t let this slide. It’s almost insane how throughout the drama, ZLS + her efforts have been dismissed and downplayed. It was easy to ignore it at first, but since the drama has ended it has been going out of control - especially on twitter.
Saying nonsensical things such as “YY carried the drama and it was successful only because of him” is extremely disrespectful to the whole team. What’s even worse is the dilreba (x YY) stans who for some weird reason have a vendetta against ZLS because since the very beginning of the drama they’ve been shading her nonstop. Is ZLS’s constant success so threatening? It was ok at first, but I can’t take it anymore. Say what you want about the show but never deny that ZLS really put in a lot of effort here - as someone said “first to enter filming and last to leave”.
one thing i always had faith in was going to be the identity reveal - HFX was obviously way too smart to be that clueless about BFX being the princess. And I absolutely loved how it wasn’t treated like a big miscommunication/reveal but instead something he embraced 😊
oh damn the finale episode preview?? that moment where she uses all her energy to detonate the arms and everything sort of just paused while she drifts down … oh the angst is real
so i guess this is the real official announcement 😅 - first kiss in ep 31! 🎉 again, lasted longer than I expected (cdramas and their complete lack of real kisses have my bar lowered to the floor lol)
also the kiss in ep 32 is a very different and heartbreaking setting compared to the dream version …
