Yep. That's ok if you don't like this drama because everyone has their own opinion. But, this is not e-sport drama,…
I agree with Fairydustpuppy in that I don't feel like the romance is forced (by the script). The love between the leads develops slowly and realistically (no "love at first sight" or other melodramatic plot). I love the slow-burn story, the witty dialog, the mature characters, and the logical story.
I’m sorry to say this but It’s borrring :,(( Not my cup of tea at all. I’m on ep11 now and I think I’m…
"King's Avatar" was the first e-sports drama that I watched. I've seen several others afterwards and I have since come to the conclusion that it's highly unlikely any other drama can compare to it in terms of the depiction of gaming scenes.
"King's Avatar" is just incredibly amazing. The visualization of the game (where you know which avatar is which character), the gameplay (you know what's going on and what are the objectives), the strategies (you see how clever the players are), the plotline of the game (you don't know how a game would turn out and so it's exciting), and the simple coolness of everything (the martial arts, the magic, the shooting inside the game).
The only drama that comes close to "King's Avatar" is "Cross Fire". I think these two dramas are equal to each other. KA is better in the gaming aspect and CF is better in the story aspect.
Anyway, back to "You Are My Glory". Because I've dialed down my expectations from gaming dramas, I think YAMG is satisfactory. Sure, the gaming scenes are not as exciting as KA. But unlike "Falling Into Your Smile" where I'm confused about what's going on, YAMG gives you a general idea about the game and we can see how it affects the two main leads.
OK , bad rating from me because I don't get the hype from it.I loved the esport part. But after that??? M Did…
I also think that the second half of the drama is less engaging than the first half, with all the exciting gaming scenes. But I can understand the hype and the high rating. This is after all a romance drama. With two stunningly gorgeous leads, a witty script, a logical story, and all the sweetness, I'm not surprised that a lot of people like it (including myself!).
I love gaming dramas and picked YAMG *because* it involves gaming, so I actually enjoyed the gaming scenes in the first half of the drama and was disappointed that they disappear after episode 15.
Anyone know the airing schedule for this drama? Mydramalist list Monday-sunday, is that right?
That's only for the first week. Afterwards, it's 2 eps per day every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday for Youku VIP members, and 1 ep per day every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for regular viewers. And then there's the fast-track, where you can buy the next six episodes every Wednesday. Check the schedule here: https://kisskh.at/photos/EL1wp_3
I would like to add my most objective opinion about this drama. I think the main buzz about the drama were the…
I think any answer to the question "Is this drama good because of the story or the actors" is going to be subjective because it really depends on the person answering. That the story is slow-placed is objective, but whether a person likes it or not is subjective. (I personally like the slow pace because I think it's realistic. There are many relationships in real life that develop slowly).
Focus on the nuances of the main leads in these gaming episodes as this is the period when YT fell in love (and…
Yeah, I think they both blurted out something they didn't mean to say out loud. They both wanted to go out together, but they weren't ready to tell the other about that yet.
I think I'm in the minority in that I love the first half of this drama more than the second half. Of course I do love the second half, with all the sweetness and witty banter. But I enjoy the first half more because the story is more engaging for me. I love the gaming scenes, so exciting, and how the leads interact through it. The second half almost has no conflict and we're basically there to see the sweetness.
So which scene/episode got you hooked on WOH? Describe your experience.
I'm always on the lookout for a good wuxia drama, so when I heard that WOH was one, I kept my eye on it. I saw a BTS video about action scenes and it looked very interesting, and so I knew I had to check it out as soon as it airs, even though my usual habit is to wait until a drama finished airing and then binge-watch it. But I just couldn't wait checking out a potential good wuxia drama.
I was hooked from the very beginning. The whole opening sequence is so well done. I liked the tense atmosphere at the start. The lanterns in the sky and the mysterious man at the rooftop are so cool.
And then we have the great fight sequences. I love it when a wuxia drama can show us different levels of skills between the fighters. Here we see the assassins defeating the soldiers, and then the governor's personal bodyguard defeating several assassins at once. He's not someone to mess around with. So the face-off with the mysterious man is exciting. When ZZS eventually won the fight, we know that he's a skilled swordsman.
I don't remember the scenes with the governor's daughter and Lao Bi leaving much impression on me the first time, maybe because ZZS is so closed-off and show very little emotion in his face and I didn't know yet the significance of the Four Seasons Manor.
But the scene where he peeled off his own flesh. That was ... wow. He finally shows how much guilt and regret and sadness he's been holding in and I just knew I was gonna love this character's journey.
And then ... of course ... his first meeting with WKX and GX and ZCL. That sealed the deal. But this scene deserves an entire post of its own.
So I was re-watching episode 29 and I noticed something that I haven't noticed before because I'm usually so focused…
At 9:20, after Lao Wen fainted, Ah-Xu checked his pulse with his right hand while holding to his fingers with his left.
So I wondered when Ah-Xu started to hold his hand. It wasn't sctually shown, but when Lao Wen fell down at 8:22, we see Ah-Xu's left hand moved towards his hand/wrist. So he was holding Lao Wen's hand/wrist (and shoulder with his right hand) throughout WKX's story of how HY died, giving him emotional support. And indeed, we see him still holding his hand/wrist at 9:15.
Needless to say, both their acting was top-notch in this scene.

I agree with the other points you mentioned.
