1. Was the fact that Duke Zhenbei is the Emperor's brother mentioned anywhere before the Emperor is told that…
I understand about the mystifying of the first massacre. I was talking about *after* XQA killed the Duke. The two masterminds didn't seem to know before the arrival of the investigation team that XQA had killed the Duke.

Talking about titles, when Huai Qing first appeared, she was called the Grand Princess. In other dramas, this title and Grand Prince is usually used for the siblings of the Emperor. So imagine my confusion when in a conversation, Princess Lin'an is called to be her younger sister. LOL.

Thank your for the explanation for both points.
I just felt that this whole subplot has a different vibe from the rest of the drama. Wei Yuan and the Supervisor had been so meticulous in their planning, knowing every little detail, predicting what will happen.
But in this incident, they were caught off-guard. (Which they were, because XQA's unexpected act of killing the Duke.) But still, they had eyes everywhere. Why weren't they aware of what happened in Chuzhou? Why hadn't they prepared to face the fallout with the Emperor?
It just felt that, suddenly, these meticulous minds were unreasonably flustered.
I have a question about Duke Zhenbei, in the reply as it's a spoiler
1. Was the fact that Duke Zhenbei is the Emperor's brother mentioned anywhere before the Emperor is told that he's dead? I feel like it comes out of nowhere. I was like, why is the Emperor so upset by the news? Do they have a special relationship? It turns out that the Duke is his brother.
2. Knowing that the Duke is the Emperor's brother, why isn't this fact affect the investigation team at all? No warnings to be cautious since they're dealing with the Emperor's brother. No hesitation at all in killing him. Just a complete disregard of the Duke's status.
I've watched this to Episode 4. I really like the characters and their dynamics, but I feel like the main plot moves very slowly because we're distracted by side-stories involving the ghosts they meet along the way. Does this pattern continue throughout the series, or will we soon get more development for the main plot?
I developed mild second lead syndrome from this encounter.
I've seen "Young Blood" the spy drama you mentioned. It was actually my first time seeing him in a drama and his character there was my favorite among the six leads.
In the opening credits, they show Zhu Zan in prison and tied up. In which episode is this? Don't spoil me about what happens, just when it happens so I can prepare myself for the heartbreak.
I'm sorry...are they insinuating they had plastic surgery back then?I just watched the trailer and I'm super confused
Not plastic surgery per se, but many C-dramas use this plot device -- a character's face is permanently changed (through some unknown method) to resemble someone else's. We just have to suspend our disbelief and roll with it. I'm so used to it, I don't bat an eye anymore.
"King's Avatar" was the first e-sports drama that I watched. I've seen several others afterwards and I have since…
I was actually agreeing with you about "King's Avatar" is the best gaming drama out there. I'm confused as to why you think I'm forcing my opinion on you because we have the same opinion about that.

Although I'd prefer to have more gaming scenes, because I simply like them, I do realize that YAMG is mainly a romance drama. And so I think the gaming scenes in it are satisfactory in the role it plays in the drama. We can see how it affects the relationship between the two characters and how QJJ grows as a player, but it doesn't go any deeper than that. I think it strikes the right balance.
