Hugs ... hand-holding ... loving gazes ... statements about being soulmates ... love poetry ...But really, it's…
Considering that Chinese censorship doesn't allow gay romance, will you then avoid all Chinese adaptions of BL novels?
WOH is definitely not a bromance. Maybe just watch the first two episodes, so you'll get some idea about how the relationship between the two leads is portrayed.
Youku English is releasing MV for the OST songs with English subtitles. So far we have "Lonely Dream", "Blindness", "Tian Ya Ke", and "Borrow the Moon". I'm sure they'll release the others soon.
I was hooked from eps 1, but I know many people get hooked on ep 12. It was also when the rating in Douban shot…
For TU, I was never bothered by the acting. One of the things that did bother me was the fight scenes. I'm a wuxia lover so fight scenes is kind of a pet peeve of mine. I don't need them to be super realistic or super exciting, but I want these scenes to reflect the relative power of the martial artists/cultivators.
When the Wen clan attacks the other clans, everything seems so easy. I don't see any fighting spirit. The fight scenes don't show that these are six major and respected cultivator clans. The clan leaders are such weaklings, unworthy of their positions. I think only Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng's mother show any fighting spirit at all.
In addition, JC and WWX only watch from the rooftop while their clan is slaughtered. When they try to evade pursuit, they don't even bother to change clothes or disguise themselves. And JC's whining! Ugh. This was when I dropped the drama. I picked it up again just because at the time I didn't know where to find other C-dramas. TU was my first C-dramas after more than a decade.
Anyway, this isn't to bash TU because I do like the drama as a whole. I enjoyed it enough to finish it, especially after the story got more interesting. It's just that there were these tiny things that prevent me to fall in love with it.

LOL. We're in the same boat then, pining for them to appear together again some day. Meanwhile, I can only follow them individually, watching their livestreams endorsing products and doing photoshoots for magazines.
I'm sad.... I finished this series yesterday and I miss ZZS&WKX already ... I don't know what watch now because…

Love comes into different style, shapes, narrative and all. If you are looking for a blatant narration of love,…
This is actually one of the reasons why I prefer the romance in wuxia dramas. I think restrained, understated love is much more interesting, often more moving, than the love depicted in Hollywood television shows, which often include explicit scenes.

Yeah, ep 1 of WOH was so intriguing to me. I mean, a troubled former assassin in disguise with nails in his body? Add to that a dashing gentleman, a fierce maiden, and a chivalrous boy. I was hoooooked.
Meanwhile, hunting demons xianxia-style has never appealed to me, hence my initial disinterest in TU. Luckily the chemistry between the leads is great and I love Jiang's family dynamics.
On ep 16 and the lead couple is so cute! I must say that the beginning of this drama failed to impress me, but as the story progresses and the two characters have more feelings for each other, I like it more and more.

The scene is when WKX and ZZS meet Gao Chong for the first time. Shen Shen and Zhao Jing are there as well. Towards the end of the scene:
Zhao Jing: Then, may I know who your father is? He's raised such a heroic young man.
WKX: My father was just an ordinary, unsophisticated man. He was a nobody. He was not even a clever man. It's been many years since my father passed away. You chevaliers have been busy. How would you remember someone like him?
The small pause WKX takes before answering ZJ just breaks my heart, knowing their history and how it must take WKX all the self-control he can muster to contain his hatred for these men. The audacity of ZJ, asking about his father.
And when he says the last two sentences, they're not some generic comments about friends or acquaintances forgetting each other as time goes by. He's actually referring to the fact that they abandoned his father in his hour of need. Indeed his father wasn't too clever when he took these men as brothers.
Youku set up channels dedicated to different languages a couple of weeks back. They each are releasing BTS and highlight videos at different paces. As a shanren, of course I watch the videos released by both Youku English and Youku Indonesian as if I haven't seen them multiple times already, LOL.
But there's often something you notice on rewatching these clips. Not significant things, but small realizations that tug at your heart.
Like today, Youku Indonesian released a highlight from the final scene in ep 8, when WKX and ZZS paid a visit to Yueyang Sect. GJ's acting is so on point here. Every line is delivered with the perfect expression. ZZS, as always, collects information from this encounter and stores it in his mind.

It's worth a read.
Also, a reminder that the lyrics was written by the script writer, Xiao Chu.
I was never really hooked on The Untamed, but I began to enjoy it more at around ep 20 or so, when WWX began using the flute instead of his sword.
