From ZZH, we see the initial shock of seeing WKX alive, the realization of what he has done to himself, the slow understanding of WKX's elaborate scheme, the tension of watching what WKX is going to do to ZJ, the relief and pride when he sees the conclusion of the fight, the barely contained anger, mixed with sadness, at the end.
From WKX, we see the cute apologetic smile to ZZS, the confidence as his plan starts to unfold, the mocking smile as ZJ tries to alter the facts, the satisfied raised eyebrow when ZJ starts to realize his situation, the enjoyment of watching ZJ squirm, the disdain and hatred when he finally fights ZJ and metes out his punishment, the seeking and receiving approval from ZZS afterwards, and the mix of caution, guilt, and happiness when he returns the sword to ZZS.
I really, truly love the remarkable acting from both ZZH and GJ in ep 33. They're both terrific actors. The various expressions they show throughout the Heroes Conference, mostly displayed without words, are a marvel to watch. Continued in the spoiler-marked comment below.
I’m just hoping there aren’t any major fandom wars that both sides embrace them as CP.
When I watched "Begin Again" last week, at first it was really weird seeing GJ with a FL. But I did get used to it eventually and came to enjoy the drama, especially after GJ settled into his character. I can't wait to see him in "The Flaming Heart". GJ as a confident character is a delight to watch.
Seeing ZZH with a FL isn't weird at all, since I've already seen him with JJY before WOH.
An interesting note: I watched an interview with Zhou Yutong, the FL in "Begin Again", and she said GJ and the director were like teachers to her. It goes to show that everything is relative. GJ was a teacher to ZYT, but a "student" when he was with the more experienced ZZH.
LOL. I can't believe Youku makes a "fanfic" video where it's implied that WenZhou are reincarnated as Huo Yan from "The Flaming Heart" and Zheng Zhi from "The Bravest". It's to promote TFH, of course, but still...
Why do you think WOH has such a high rating, when other popular dramas fail to even reach an eight?
I did wonder whether the fact that WOH is a BL adaptation also boosts its rating, but "The Untamed" is only 7.7 in douban.
But maybe it's like you said, WOH offers something new both in the wuxia genre and in the BL adaptation genre, and maybe the combination of these is what pushes its rating so high.

So it's the genre and the team's hard work and sincerity. I see elements of these in other wuxia dramas that I love, "Love in Between" and "Ancient Detectives", and they both have a rating of 8 or higher. I think you're on to something. "The Great Protector" is awesome too.

I opened this page and then, through the Recommended Dramas section on the page, I checked out some of the dramas I recognized and was surprised that some of my favorites (Ming Lan, Yanxi) don't even reach an 8. Now I realize just how high WOH's 8.6 really is.
Glad to see that Nirvana in Fire has a 9.4 rating. That's REALLY high. Joy of Life only 8, Imperial Coroner 8.2.
