I watched WoH and just watched twelve episodes "Begin Again". I agree with muimui94. I think WKX is a well-rounded character and the WOH script is excellent, and so both of these element allows GJ to understand WKX inside out and to immerse fully in the character. That's why every gesture he makes lives and breathes WKX,.

In contrast, Ling Rui is a generic good guy, at least from what I've seen so far. But GJ is doing a fair job, I think, within the confines of the character.

Do you prefer xianxia or wuxia? If xianxia, The Untamed. If wuxia, Word of Honor.
Do you prefer subtle or overt portrayal of BL (within the confines of Chinese censorship)? If subtle, The Untamed. If overt, Word of Honor.

(Personally, I like WOH better and the obsessed fangirl in me would shout, "Watch WOH first!!!" but both are good dramas with good chemistry between the leads.)

Don't worry, I'm not expecting character development. I just want to see him get more settled into his character and give me some sweet romcom moments, haha. The scene in ep 1 where FL walks into his office is rather cringey, but I like when he takes care of FL in ep 3. I'm also watching this for GJ and skipping the scenes without him.

I find Ling Rui's character unremarkable so far. He's a generic good guy with no distinctive traits. Gong Jun is doing a pretty good job, but isn't given much to work with, character-wise or script-wise. I do hope that after LR gets married, the story and the character will become more interesting. I definitely want to continue watching the drama.

I watched three episodes of "Begin Again" and gained new appreciation for Wen Kexing. Gong Jun is just perfect and confident in the role. Even the first time he appears fully on screen (first encounter with Zhou Zishu), when we haven't seen the complexity of this character, when he's basically just sitting there and chatting and observing ... even then, every smile, every glance, every gesture is so compelling.

It has 88 videos, some available only for VIP, some for free. The free videos are generally highlights of performances, games, and of course, ZZH's memorable speech to GJ. Also, it includes the Colorful Brothers' reaction to the (uncensored) concert, LOL.

I seem to remember that in the scene where ZZS expelled his nails, there weren't any scars from the meat hooks when it first aired (when it still had ZZS's scream) and viewers protested. Then the scene was re-edited: the scars were added and the scream was cut. Further evidence that the torture scene was filmed later on and the decision to include meat hooks was also taken later on.

I was replying to your comment about Wu Ti. I'm sorry I wasn't clear! So I was referring to Hu Xia's solo performance of "Wu Ti" on the second day of the concert.

It's one of the reasons I watch this while it's airing, LOL. Usually I wait until a drama is complete so I can binge-watch. I remember waiting impatiently for "Love and Redemption" to finish so I could start watching it.

I think watching WOH while it's airing and experiencing everything that comes with it (reading people's comments, following promotional events and livestreams) is one of the reasons I'm obsessed with the drama now.

I was bored with these episodes even when I first watched them. With only one episode per day, I felt like there wasn't much progress in the story by the time the episode ended.

Me too. It's a beautiful song. I love all versions of it: Hu Xia's, ZZH's, and their duet.

Wu Ti, Gu Meng, Tian Ya Ke, Ting Wen, Zui Jiang Yue, Jin Shu Lai - those are my favorites, in that order.

Ah, so you're pretty far into it. I guess it's just not your cup of tea, then? Though if you're interested, WKX's past is revealed in episode 19 (if you stopped at ep 18).

Anyway, good luck with other dramas. I hope you'll find others more to your liking. I see you watch mainly modern dramas. Then may I suggest "Go Ahead", "The King's Avatar", and "Cross Fire" (the last two are gaming dramas like "Gank Your Heart"). If you're up for another xianxia like "The Untamed", check out "Love and Redemption".
