I don't know the answer, but I know that J-films used to hugely popular in 90s and early 2000s, so the actors and actresses were popular among other countries as well, but now, it's not like that at all. So I'm not sure if any J-actors or J-actresses is highly popular outside Japan. As you said, now we have the Korean and even Chinese winning hearts oversees.

People say that it's slow-paced. I think it's true, but for a good reason. In the beginning, Kondo and some other guys lack enough motivation, but Kotera brings movement to the atmosphere and then the story proceeds faster and faster. So the movie pace reflects these people's hearts.
Overall I'd like it, especially the epic ending scene!
