I think it entirely depends on what you like. Personally for me, I don't mind slow burn romances or even slow dramas, but even if I like the leads and chemistry, I still have to like the overall story. Yeah, there romance is probably super slow, I have only watched 15 epis so far, but I am actually enjoying the other characters and their interactions too. I think it is a well written and interesting drama.

Yes, the story really picks up from epis 7-8 onwards, but towards the end of epi 5 I started getting intrigued. The grandma and the second aunt got on my nerves in the first 4 epis, not to mention the mother. I don't mind a slow start or even a slow drama, but I really dislike such loud and nasty characters. Maybe, the grandma isn't so bad and is even a little funny, but she's still too loud for my liking. But I agree, it's really worth it.

After watching 13 episodes here is my verdict. Do not go by the 3 episode kdrama rule, that doesn't work for cdramas anyway coz they are way longer and stories can take a while to shape up, but you will honestly want to pull your hair out during the first four epis of this drama. You would think that this drama is full of annoying and nasty characters. You would feel sorry for Shaoshang and you would long for some glimpses of Ling Buyi. BUT, BUT, BUT, something shifts from episode five. Gradually more characters are introduced, you start seeing the nicer and fun side of people, you love how witty and quirky Shaoshang is, you still long to see more of Ling Buyi, you anticipate their every meeting and the story starts shaping up really, really nicely. So after watching 13 episodes, I can say that it's really lovely drama. Lusi is perfect and adorable as CSS. Leo is impeccable as LBY. I am now watching this along with TLB. I rarely watch two dramas side by side, but what can I do? Leo has captured my heart. They are both very, very talented actors and this is a great drama so far.

Yes WOH was my comfort show last year and I have so many happy memories associated with it. I feel very nostalgic when I think of WOH and WKX.

I do feel better now, thanks. Cdrama osts are all very nice but there is something different about WOH ost. I don't if it's the lyrics or the tune but there is just something inexplicable in it.

I haven't re-watched in a while but yesterday I was listening to Shan He Xing and Blindness with the official video and started missing him so much.

There are multiple reasons. Some actors don't speak standard mandarin well or don't have good voice modulation. Sometimes they have to change certain dialogues after the drama goes through review and the drama actors become unavailable due to other schedules. Sometimes it's just for better sound quality, especially when they film costume dramas in Hengdian. The next is personal opinion, I often feel that they just simply associate certain type of voices with certain characters.

Yes, go ahead. This is a really good drama and ZL's character is nice. In fact there's a bunch of really nice, well written characters in the drama. The plot and the message is really good but the story and the characters take a while to develop, but it's not slow or anything. The pacing is good. The romance is slow burn but it's worthwhile.

That's what I thought too but then they said it's dubbed, so I am confused. Where did you find the info?

Ep 36. I love the king of Mobei. He is awesome. The dance was hilarious. Though I wish they had shown Changge and friends dancing too. Seriously director??!! You put Changge, Senior Qin, Xu feng, Shiba and Mimi in that costume and don't show us the dance battle?? The animation just ruined the fun. I feel a bit cheated. Maybe a bit of animation was okay but at least they could have shown us some of the dancing.

Hopefully she gets better. I watched four epis and still find her annoying. Cheng family members, except the dad and maybe the second uncle and cousin are horrible.
