A good first episode. Gong Jun is very impressive as Huo Yan and he looks so good in uniform. Zhang Hui Wen is cute. I already like her from LOF. I actually didn't know what to expect from the first epi, but I liked how it was so solid and fast paced. Hope it continues to be good.

Oh btw, the actress playing Huo Yan's mom...if I am not wrong, isn't she the same actress who played Ling Rui's mom? I was so surprised.

So excited for the mini WOH reunion between GJ and ZY in Chinese restaurant 5. I was actually eager to watch them in something else, so I am really happy that this happened so soon even if it's a cooking variety show. Just hope the full epis will be uploaded somewhere with proper subs. I tried looking for the previous season in YT when I heard GJ will be there but I couldn't find it.

WOH already has a huge fandom in Japan. People watched it without proper subs and still fell in love with it. But this is great as now we will have even more Shanrens from Japan.

Yes, epi one was a bit slow and heavy with all the window of heaven stuff but I was still intrigued by it, especially with the way it was presented. But then the showed the Ghost valley king and later at the end WKX appears...I was like ok, I have to watch this.

Yes it does take a while to fully get into TU, doesn't it? It was my first time watching a xianxia ( I had only watched a few cdramas before and they were all modern), so it was a little hard to understand at first. And I really wasn't so invested in the all the supporting characters ( though I liked some of them). I was just totally into Wangxian..and oh, I loved the Yi City arc. But with WOH, I loved Wenzhou, I loved the other characters and I was totally engrossed into the story as well.

I am on epi 25 and I still have some confusion regarding their childhood. How exactly did Ling Rui and Fangning meet when they were kids? Ling Rui went to school in his hometown and Fangning lived in the city. Did Ling Rui and his family move to the city for his father's treatment and later returned to their hometown?

I have read this many times actually. Why did so many people get hooked to TU from epi 13? What exactly happened in epi 13? I can't remember at all. I think I got hooked from the end of epi 2 but I still got a bit bored from time to time especially on those epis when LWJ was not there. But with WOH, I was hooked from the very first moment when all those lanterns are shown and ZZS appears dressed in all black. Later I got hooked even further when WKX officially appears looking all pristine in silvery white. I didn't think there was a single dull moment in WOH.

I am so glad Ma Tao and the production stuck to their view. As a foreign viewer, learning about all those literary references was so much interesting and fun. It just made the whole WOH experience all the more deligtful. I love smart dramas that don't take the audience for granted. This is one of the many things that makes WOH special. Thanks Ma Jie.

Yes, once everything is sorted out it, they are actually quiet cute.

There are sweet romcom moments ahead and the second couple has some nice scenes too but it takes a while and it's actually kind of slow. Lol, if you find that scene cringey then there are more cringey moments ahead. The FL hasn't even started her antics yet.

I am on epi 20, and yes Ling Rui is actually pretty unremarkable in that sense. He is a good, principled guy but there is not much else to it. If you're looking for a huge character prgression, you won't find it there. If such a guy exists in real life it would be great but there isn't a lot scope for an actor in these type of roles. But he has done pretty well within the scope of that character.

Plotwise, it is actually quite simple and the focus is mainly on the FL, but the characters are nice and it's a light watch. It does get better as you know more about story and characters but it's not super exciting or anything. Tbh, I am watching this just for GJ. I just like how Ling Rui is drastically different from WKX.

I am actually more interested in watching Flavour it's Yours. I have seen some random clips and FVMs and I think his character there is more interesting. I am going to try that next.

He is so magnificent as WKX. I am also watching Begin Again. His character there is just so different from WKX and he has done a pretty good job. He is actually quite versatile IMO. Even the body language of Ling Rui is completely different from WKX.
