WOH has allowed GJ and ZZH to portray a wide range of emotions and expressions, I think it is also thanks to the…
Yes, they are both actually very, very talented. I haven't seen any of their previous shows so I don't what kind of roles they did before. Great for them and us, that they were able to play these roles and showcase their range.
The more I watch it, the more I love it. I am amazed by Gong Jun's acting. The way he switches expressions is just fascinating to watch. What a brilliant actor. He totally owns WKX. Zhang Zhe Han is really good too. His character requires subtle acting and he has a done a great job too. Zhou Ye is marvelous too. Love her character.
I have just finished ep 5 and now I am kinda regretting that I started this late since I wanted to wait for more epis to get subbed. It's so, so good. Can't wait to catch up with everyone else so that I can take part in the discussions.
I have only seen a few episodes so far and it is already looking amazing. The acting is great, the OST is amazing. At the point I am not even caring for spoilers and watching all the BTS videos. I don't want to miss out on anything.
Two years ago, on this day, one of the most beautiful songs ever made was recorded by two very special voices. Happy 2nd Anniversary Wuji. Thank you Lin Hai for this hauntingly beautiful melody. Thank you lyricist for penning those heartfelt words. Thank you Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo for bringing this song to life that sums up the story of Wangxian.
Just yesterday I was watching the live duet version of Wuji after some time and today I randomly watched some bts. I have been busy watching other shows and I thought maybe I was moving on or something, but no. Just seeing their old performance and watching them goofing around on the sets and it all came flooding back. All those memories, the feeling of watching CQL for the first time, watching a bts for the first time and rofling....the laughter, the joy, the tears, the happiness....all of it. TU will always be TU.
When LOF finished vip airing it was little short of 5B views and DC reached 2B views on its finale day. DC's viewership…
I didn't mean to say you were comparing. I replied in a rush, sorry. I was just making a point. I am yet to watch DC so I can't really say much about it yet. LOF is definitely much better than what some people said. Considering everything I've read about douban ratings, I'd say that people take it far too seriously.
I agree with Nichols that LOF and Douluo should not be compared with each other as they are vastly different.…
Yes, ZLY is called raitings queen but didn't most of her top dramas air on TV? I know LOF did get some mixed reviews for different reasons. Some novel fans were unhappy as some things were left out. But it did pretty well considering everything.
Well I was curious about the lack of promos too and kept ask ing around. There was a lot of discussion about it on twitter and here as well. Many people found it strange and there could be a number of reasons. Some people suggested that it might be because WYB didn't become there spokesperson.

I was under the impression that 5.1B views it rather good because TU reached 9B views just a few days ago after over 1.5 years of airing and DC ended with 2B ( although it's viewership is split between tv and tencent).
However, I do not agree that TC promoted it well. ZLY and WYB did come of DDY and Happy Camp but that's just the bare minimum. Awards show appearances of on-air and soon-to-air dramas is simply a norm and every one does it for every show. There was no press con or joint interview except the short little individual interviews done during TC award night. The ads have little do with TC's enthusiasm though. It has big stars so obviously it will get a lot of ads.
Correct me or if I’m wrong, heard people said that 有翡 was only aired online while duoluo continent was aired…
When LOF finished vip airing it was little short of 5B views and DC reached 2B views on its finale day. DC's viewership has been split on two different platforms and I am not sure about the tv raitings. Considering that LOF has done pretty well in terms of viewership.
Both dramas are vastly different though, so it's best not to compare.
However, TC milked LOF as much as it could while giving it very little. Yes, ZLY and WYB did make TV show appearances but that was just it. It also got a lot of ads but that has more to do with the fact that it's a high profile drama with A-listers and less to do with TC's eagerness to promote it.
The chibi donghua version, MDZS Q just ended. If some of you haven't watched it yet, go watch it now. It was cuteness overload. The perfect epilogue to a perfect story. I don't know about anyone else, but for me the drama, the novel, the two versions of the donghua all come together to make MDZS whole. You can't just leave anything out and Q version actually gave us all the things we hoped for. I used to wait every week to watch it so I am gonna miss it a lot. The final season of the donghua is coming this summer.
Congratulations to LOF team for reaching 5B views domestically on a single platform a few hours ago. It had reached 4.9B views 5 days ago and would have reached the 5B mark much earlier, but for some reason Tencent made all epis (except the first 2) unavailable for non-vips just 24 hours after the finale.
This is a bit strange. Can someone enlighten me on this? Do they usually do this or they just did it to LOF?
I rarely rewatch dramas, and I have only rewatched very few of my favourites. This is one drama which I started rewatching while waiting for the final episodes to get subbed. That's how much I love it. While I was watching the finale, I was very sad as I just didn't want to let go. I don't know how to explain it, it just has that laid-back vibe and that's exactly what I loved about. Yes, it was slow and confusing in the beginning but the story eventually fell into place. It didn't have that edge-of-a-seat kind of plot but had a gradual progression showing the growth and journey of these characters. Yunfei didn't have the sparks- flying-everywhere kind of relationship, but rather had an effortless strangers-to friends-to lovers journey. I loved them and I loved ZLY and WYB's chemistry and they both enacted their roles superbly. I loved Chuchu and also liked Chuchu-Li Sheng pairing, but I also shipped her with Yin Pei a little, actually a lot. I liked the trio and also really liked the supporting characters of grandpa and the old masters.
Acting wise, as a fan I am really proud of Yibo but I am not surprised to see him be able to pull off Xie Yun because I always had full confidence in his abilities. It's my first time watching ZLY and she really impressed me too. I heard this drama had some big names for the supporting roles, I am not too familiar with c-ent but I found the supporting cast to be really good in general. I also liked most of the OST, such as Wu hua, Xi Wei, Anping theme, Yunfei bgm etc.
Yes, there were some flaws, the editing and CGI was not the best but I honestly wasn't too bothered by it. As long as it's not something too distracting, I am fine with it. The action scenes looked quite ok to me too. I heard about the budget, I don't know if it's a rumour or a fact. I can see how people can be upset about it but I watch dramas for the story and characters and I came here without knowing much details so I was ok with that too. I haven't read the novel yet so I can't really say how similar or different it is to the novel. But I understand that novel fans will have certain expectations. Anyway, I feel like somewhere down the line, this drama ended up receiving some criticisms it didn't deserve for a variety of reasons at least from international viewers. It did end up being quite successful in it's home country. Story and acting wise, this drama is worth watching, though probably not for those who like fast-paced dramas. As more people watch it in future, I hope it will recieve more unbaised reviews as it is certainly deserves it.
