Once again a very Happy Birthday to Lan Wangji, Lan Zhan, Hanguang Jun. I consider Lan Wangji to be one of the most beautiful fictional characters ever written, brought to life by the supremely talented Wang Yibo. To me Lan Wangji is the symbol of unwavering love, loyalty and integrity. I am grateful to have come across this drama and this beautiful character. I believe there is always something to learn from fiction too. Lan Wangji shows us how to stand firm on your ground, follow your heart and never give up. Thank you MXTX for conceiving this character. Thank you Wang Yibo for playing him flawlessly and thank you Bian Jiang for being the voice of Lan Wangji.
I know it's LWJ's birthday and happy birthday to my fav character, but can someone tell me where the characters bdays are mentioned? I saw someone say it says so in the novel. Where? I read the novel and I don't remember seeing it anywhere. Did I miss it or what?
Have seen 35 epis so far. How intense and emotional was that scene of Fei carrying XieYun on her back in ep 31. Wow. I mean I couldn't hold back my tears. Brilliant performance by both Yibo and ZLY. Yibo never fails to surprise me.
Both ZLY & YP chemistry is good. Unexpected YP acting is even better now compare to the last series one year ago.
Yibo's acting was always very good though. I mean he was incredible as LZ. I think many people don't realize how difficult it is to portray quiet and restrained characters and that the character was meant to be that way ( if they haven't read the novel). Which is why some people overlooked his LZ performance. If anything, he proved how versatile he is as an actor and can play any kind of roles.
I am so happy and relieved. I didn't even care for spoilers and checked out how it ends. Though I am only just halfway, I can go back and watch the rest of the drama in peace. I'll finish the drama in the next few days, but it's also making me a little sad. I don't want to let it go. YunFei is beautiful. The love story is beautiful. WYB and ZLY have amazing chemistry. Hope they can do another project in future, maybe a modern drama.
I'm going to blindly take your word for it and continue with this drama. I've only watched 17 episodes so far…
Well everyone has different tastes. I started enjoying this around epi 9-10 but you are on epi 17 and still not enjoying it, so I don't know what to say. Those who liked it are all saying it gets even better, so good luck. Hope fully it will be worth your time.
I have seen 23 episodes so far, and I am just going to say that I love this. Initially I didn't like it much . It was too slow and rather confusing and it takes a lot of time to get invested in the plot and the characters, but as the series progresses it does get loads better. Yes, it's not without its flaws but it's fun. I love Yunfei's romance and ZLY-WYBs chemistry. No complains there at all. I haven't read the novel and I came here with only one expectation - to see some good acting from Yibo and he didn't disappoint. Maybe not having much expectations helps and it does take some patience to watch this. I haven't seen many c-dramas. This is only my seventh and the third that I am going to finish, so I don't know what to expect from wuxia dramas. I have seen loads of people complain about the production quality. It doesn't look too bad compared sageuk kdramas. Though I am only almost halfway through the show, I am already sad it's gonna end soon. Just hope the ending will be good coz more than anything else, I want Yunfei to get a happy ending.

She can easily pass off as someone in her early-mid twenties and it's not like they are mentioning Fei's age in every episode , so it's fine. They look good together and that's what matters to me at least. Her makeup in the show is just done poorly. Her face and neck look totally different shades. She looked much prettier and younger in DDU and Happy Camp.
I am on episode 13 but I still went ahead and watched their kiss. Who says they don't have chemistry?
Tbh, the initial episodes are very slow, and for someone who hasn't read the novel, it was rather difficult for me to even understand what was happening during the first few episodes. I only started to get what's happening after epi 9 or 10. It's all very confusing at first and sometimes the scenes with the supporting cast feels too long. I can see that it's slowly getting better though.
Yibo is really amazing here and he has proved his versatality as an actor with this role. I love his character. I am watching ZLY for the first time on screen. She is pretty but her make up artist has done a terrible job, especially with the eye makeup. It just makes her look tired. IMO she looks better with less make up. And yeah, the chemistry is good.

Yeah, I felt so happy and relieved to see XZ. This was more than we could ask for. I am just happy we got to see him on screen before the year end and knowing that he has us, he must be feeling reassured too. Yibo was really not himself and that's part of reason why I felt sad. Whatever it was, I hope he's alright now. Though I'll probably continue to worry. I also didn't expect any conversation, In fact I tried not to even think about it much before the actual ceremony, so this was enough.
