i think the money mostly went to the extras and martial arts choreographers. i noticed since the beginning that there really were a lot of disciples and that prob cost a lot of money considering the costumes and also the choreographers prob had a lot to since this is a martial arts drama
alsooo i think we are just not used to chengyi in this kind of setting like those love game in eastern fantasy vibes cause i personally couldnt imagine him before in a bright setting but here he is and still spitting blood haha
