It is intentional for XY to have these weaknesses that you noted. When I read the novel, I was wondering about her character too but later on the story addresses it when she recognizes her flaws and how she can improve. All the leads play an important role in her life and she in theirs. She has saved all of their lives too, so it's not like she hasn't done anything for them.

I'm a fan of CX too. Even though it is tragic that he does not have XY in his wife in the end, he does have the one thing he values more than that, he has the power to keep her safe

I like all the leads, but for CX, I think I find his plotline the most interesting... his challenges, his hopes, his suffering

I love your defense of the sweet fox. The writer wrote all these characters with strengths, weaknesses, and difficult circumstances; there's something to appreciate in each of the mains.
TSJ's story to me is about how his weakness is also his greatest strength. XY says she prefers him to be kind (she's had too many people around her who are cruel) and she later explains in greater detail her appreciation for the strength it takes to hold true to being a kind good person even after the unspeakably horrible things that were done to him by people he loved and trusted. While it might not be flashy, I personally admire it about him too. Unfortunately, there were some bad outcomes by trying to be kind, but TSJ and XY both learn from these rough patches.
I hope we won't need to wait too long for the next season
