It feels satisfying watching this drama, ep 8 has all the heart, has all the gears turn on and I couldn't wait for next week.
soo min and minhwan actually can avoid being together had they changed.

The drama put a comedic tone on him more often so we can see that he is bluffing but if you hear ji won's monologue,
it said that she was always taken aback by his approach, how she wants a family and how he took advantage of her because she can't really hurt people's feeling. We even see in the recent 2nd life scenes that Ji Won's dislike confrontation or even doing bad things to people (who actually deserve it).
At the time (1st life) , only him, minhwan is around her and asking to be her family.
She knows this is not the best but she also don't dare to dream and minhwan actually looks decent in people's point of view, he is social, has good job, work in big company, fit and doesn't look bad. Even soo min in the 2nd life still realised that minhwan is a pretty good catch since soo min has no idea how he lives at home.

In the first life, he wins big in stock, he is successful on his project and he did makes effort to get ji won agree to marry him. Even it's sloppy, it just there is no one around ji won and she has no frame of reference. In the 2nd life, ji won said that the biggest things is how she realised that there are more good people around her than soo min and minhwan, even the bully actually hhas their pov and when get confronted, want to know the truth. The 2nd life shows that ji won took some of that luck which is why he looks incompetence. I do wish the drama put more of the 1st timeline for minhwan.

I've several people like soo min too, including the "wrecking people's family" part, it's like you can see it but at the same time, you doubt yourself if that's even real.
It's hard to pinpoint the gaslight until it happened several times.
Soomin idea of asking other's to do difficult things is something I've heard before by another woman who resemble her.

Idk if it related to in woo but I remember taller actor was instructed by the director to hunch so they can get the shot in frame,
I remember yoon kyun sang talk about how he needs to changes his posture, height and the way he stand and walk when the other actor is shorter and they need a wide shot.
That's why most taller actor did say that they have a harder time getting roles, just for the practical reason of getting inside frame.

I mean, this is her 2nd life and she travelled back in time because she died in the hands of the husband/boyfriend
I think the drama has explained itself pretty well regarding her trauma and worry.
It's not like she suddenly back to the past or get into time travel, she actually died and has a funeral.

I don't think he decided on his plan yet, he just found out about the consequences,
I think ji won action may changes his view, he is afraid to be honest to her and I want to give him time to realised this one.

I like the changes too, it gives more depth and context

For the last 3 episode, I feel like this drama is telling me that I should use my time wisely cause I don't have second chance.
Listening to how Ji Hyuk regretted his inaction because he realised it too late resonate so much with me,
I love how episode 7 takes time answering viewer doubt and question about why the character did what they did. It's been hinted before in the earlier episode but to see the character say their inner thought just add another layer of depth.
I've read the webtoon, love it and I've been saying this since first episode but the drama really makes it their own, it's a great adaptation and it gives the viewer their own story without sacrificing the main story.
Also, I finally get prime because of this drama, they send me coupon early this year, can't believe this is how I subscribed to prime.

Her cancer isn't just because stress and her caught it late but also pursuing the treatment super late after she found out that she is sick.

The halal food storyline seems to have been scrapped off since the following story had appeared.
The halal food is before the meal kit and used to bring down the manager but they changes the timeline in the drama from 2009 to 2013 and the manager was brought down by referencing actual event in south korea, it effectively makes the event surrounding that is not there so imo there will no story related to Islam in this adaptation.
With the villains, I think they tone down the visual description

I also think it's quite faithful , it keeps all the important one and added some explanation to smooth things up, the class reunion is not 100% spot on because the confrontation was in the bathroom only for webtoon and did not transferred to the main hall , there was no eunho clarification in the webtoon since he comes late and only meet ji won in the entrance of the building. I think the drama did it better by adding the extra scenes.

There are other changes like the way ji hyuk died, (suicide vs car accident), eunho's current occupation (work in restaurant/star chef vs work/own the office cafe shop) , ji won's style and they also skip the halal food project. Most of the changes imo is added scenes so the drama gets a better context. This is why I find the drama works well, it manage to captured the feeling despite adding certain scenes.

I don't think it's that polarizing for mmh, the webtoon has specific plot lines that gets much criticism back in the day and this drama has managed to avoid it. I find a lot more reader are fine with the adaptation so far. It's not either you love it or hate it like other webtoon adaption, it mostly get okay / passed by the webtoon reader, loved by the reader and not really hated by the one who don't like it.

Reading this makes me think because I find the webtoon is indeed beloved but I don't think the webtoon is perfection, it's a satisfying story and journey and in my view the webtoon needs more chapter and explanation for the characterisation and the decision. Many things sort of happen in the webtoon. I like the webtoon a lot and have reread it several times but there are still plot point that I don't find makes much sense.

After watching this 6 episode drama, I find the drama able to explore story that the webtoon did not explain and able to stitch the story in drama format.

It just I don't think this is a fair point to say if the adaptation live up or not live up to the source material, simply because it hasn't ended.
What makes the webtoon special is how it ended and how satisfying the character journey but this drama still have 10 episode to go and I think it's rather immature to put a conclusion that this lack warmth or charm or either it's live up or not.

I read the webtoon way early, since it's first chapter and have to wait a week for a new chapter, this is kind of the same pace, if not faster. iirc, the mass released was 3 chapter back in the day.
the webtoon feels faster because we have all the episode now and how webtoon structured to always follow the main character.
drama is different medium but to be fair,
imagined waiting one week for one chapter of the webtoon and then compare to the pacing of this drama,
the drama is actually faster.
Chapter 12 is done in episode 3,
episode 6 has covered up to chapter chapter 18,
this at least 9 week if there is 2 chapter every week.

Ep 3 was not a single episode though? it's a culmination of all the rumour and the idea to clapback to soo min since episode 1.
It has backstory, all the people involved and a setting for confrontation because in the past, it's supposed to be place for Ji Won's humiliation. What she did is go along with that set up and answering the allegation while in the past, she didn't say anything. She didn't set up the meeting or gather the people, she did less preparation, gets help by hee yon and ji hyuk.

I don't think jiwon ep 3 has left, it stays there but the situation itself doesn't call for confrontation, I've read the webtoon and the office confrontation happen a little later because they have to set it up first.

I don't agree that ji won became weak just because she doesn't appear to shut down soo min, it's a rather shallow observation of her character.
She becomes more meticulous, patient and also planned accordingly. She changes each episode and the raw feeling of anger, resentment and her revenge is still there but it will be revealed in the right moment.
Should she talk back to the supervisor and get remove unceremoniously? talk back like in the restaurant is not how you work in company, especially with manager and director who are out against you. She done her part without tarnishing her name and gets the most out of it, people knows it's her idea getting stolen and she can become the nice employee. She did this all alone without much hee yeon and ji hyuk helping her in the scheme.

She also sets up the stage for soo min and minhwan relationship because she wants them to spent time together because she knows minhwan still clutching into her. Soo min doesn't need to get fired up, she is ready, it's minhwan that need to be more aggressive and ji won is betting on that. People don't just cheat because they get fired up, they continuously cheat because of opportunity and the idea that "oh, she is okay with us together, she wouldn't notice a things".
Ji won wants to dump minhwan and before it, he has to cheat first and the time will come so she makes sure to create more time of minhwan and soo min together also why would she be there? Soomin can always reframe it her interaction with minhwan as okay if ji won is there, it's only cheating in the eyes of bystander when minhwan and soomin are alone and jiwon also counting on this. People have to see bits by bits to believe it before it comes in full front.

Idk how to reply since ji won did something.
She knows that the proposal will go awry if that director name is in there so she makes sure he is there and become the face of the brand, she is not "hoping" that the director will make a mess. She knows he will and that's also why she provoked him via the phone. To make sure it happen. This basically shut down all the soomin "I want to be permanent employee and give me this project" talk since several episode ago.
She planned all the marketing to be big and grand so their downfall will be detrimental and a huge lost from the company.
She works on her revenge but on what ground that she can act now ?
Minhwan and soomin hasn't even in relationship, they eat together and ji won knows it because they invited her along.
You can't accuse people of "future infidelity", she needs to let minhwan and soo min relationship happened and she did it by making the spending time together, buying them food, leave for work alone. She did a lot of things. Just because she isn't punching and slapping people left and right doesn't mean she didn't do anything.

PMR isn't well paced, it's short but the conflict wasn't build well for the payback. We understand the payback because of the makjang troupe that we are familiar with but internally, the drama takes shortcut to only show the external conflict that can be done in smaller episode but didn't build up the internal problem of the character. I like the drama and the webtoon too but PMR is also as generic as another makjang drama and 12 hours is definitely too short.
