The World between Us and Someday or One Day are my first and second Taiwan Drama, and I am so agree with you, Taiwan Drama is actually on par with other countries' Drama. They are unique and raw and I think more sincere than Chinese Drama (I don't know why I feel that). Like a special treat. But I don't think I will take Taiwan Drama as a regular in my drama watching experience. Because I guess, the good ones, are currently just a few among the mediocre ones. I don't know, would someone enlighten me LOL?

My first kdrama? Boys Over Flowers, ofc. Thank goodness, that drama hasn't become a staple in the recent years. Sadly, people used to recommend BOF for newbies. You've got some solid recommendations here :)

I wouldn't say Kingdom represents Historical drama. if you look for similar drama to Kingdom, you would certainly find none. Historical RomCom and Historical are usually in the same category. So for newbies historical is definitely what you said as historical romcom, Goo Hae Ryung, Tale of Nokdu, Hwarang, and as they experince more, they might venture to the more serious historical drama like The Crowned Clown, Empress Ki, Six Flying Dragon, even Chinese Dramas such as Nirvana in Fire, etc. But I get why you're recommending Kingdom! Such a good production and zombies LOL, which is so mainstream. Good article, nonetheless.

I understand why his agency won't respond much, dating rumors might flare up, and the fans might become angrier, because there is an illusion that handsome celebrities are the fans' property/boyfriend/spouses (yes it is that severe). That is why so many asian celebrities avoid dating in public and even then, just a little dating rumor can harm their colleagues.
