For me, though MZY appears weak and quiet in the first few episodes, I felt he actually dominated the scenes. Because he had few lines and showed limited display of his powers and strength, I felt his on-screen presence was that much stronger. He had to convey more in his acting aloneā¦I could see his inner struggle between being attracted to WZ and following what heās been trained to do since young, his confusion on how to handle someone like WZ while being in awe of her wanton display of freedom, his restraint in taking the verbal abuse from people, knowing that heās there for a higher purpose, his confidence in his abilities and beliefs that he can be blunt with people in the Imperial palace and ask for his bossā job in front of him š¤£, etc.
I donāt think being a male lead requires him to be āmachoā all the time. The male lead should showcase depth and be more than just a one note wonder. But that is just my opinion. To each their own.
Question: I thought demons and humans arenāt supposed to mix. I think i can understand why the demon lords can, but not sure I understand why some of the demons, like Hu Zhu, Ling Xiao, etc. can? Wow, XK nailed MZYās heart opening up to WZ. My heart melted seeing him go from a totally focused and driven person all his life to suddenly wavering because of unexpected emotions heās suddenly feeling for another person.
