people are cursing mxy mainly bcos he burned the paper in front of her which was symbolic of burning the love he had for her....and divorced her after promising to never leave her....that's the main reason for anger against mxy......it is easier to overlook ye li's mistake bcos it was relatively less dramatic 😉😉 but the truth is both are at deeply hurt and that evil marquis did his last evil deed by scratching that hurt....

guys please try to understand.....throughout the entire time they spent together....mxy was accepting of everything....he was grateful for her healing...he understood her fake kidnapping....he accepting her wandering around alone....he understood her anger at her family.....he did not hold back in any way.....but throughout that entire time, despite all his efforts; while saying that she had always loved him, while acting all cute, while watching the drama and talking about it....through all of that, she knew that her mother was so instrumental: in his brother being denounced as a traiter and being decapitated publicly, him staying in jail with rotting wounds for months, not being able to walk, raging inside for years.....you think he can just all of that go with just kind words!!! all she had to do was trust him and each time he made a mistake he apologized and corrected himself....why couldn't she have at least tried to tell him???? instead he had to hear it from that marquis in his evil manipulative way....imagine how much he loved her and how that must have felt....c'mon people.....i am not against ye li....but mxy is also justified....aigoooo...both such sad people....don't take sides, no?

ok...mostly agree with everything everyone has said...except xiuwen hid the decree probably because the emperor dies before he reached the capital and he felt that he would be ambushed and the edict taken from him by the marquis.....so he hid it so that the duke hua and the lishan scholars could present it directly in court when it would be undeniable....unfortunately for him, before duke hua and lishan scholars could get there, fl's mother decided to "rescue" the edict, intending to protect it.....sadly, from there it ALL went downhill for everyone except the villains...this is of course ALL a guess 😉

ahh!!! rewatching ep. 17....the happiness in mxy's eyes...after this, to realise that his wife may not love him at all....but everything she did for him could have been out of guilt....it is so heart-breaking 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
