at this point i am thinking that maybe we are overthinking choi hyeon's birth etc....maybe there is nothing more to it...the writers put it there exactly to distract us..... the king didn't break his promise....he just delayed it....at first he probably thought that he will just endure through the kingship because it is his duty and he should just pass it off to someone else just because he doesn't want it....but when he realised that he absolutely hates it, he decided to abdicate and give it to i-an who had always wanted it....
I also feel compelled to mention we see an entire building explode and the crown prince is supposed to be in it.…
also maybe the place where he was and where the explosion happened were far apart....so his injuries were from falling debris rather than the explosion itself....like if he had just entered the building....just saying, its possible......
Jokes apart, I’m convinced the writers themselves are confused too because HOW are we still lost at episode…
i think it is to the writers credit that even at episode 10 we are still so invested and curious about what's going to happen and who is what.....and because it is only 12 episodes, each episode has a lot happening, if you think about it :-)
