"meeting tong is the luckiest event in my life. she is gentle and kind, understanding and considerate. she is like a beam of light in my life. she has taught me how to love." 🥰🥰🥰
admittedly lost steam towards the end but overall i enjoyed it! the leads was so sweet and of course the kids were freaking adorable, i especially loved the friendship between the girls 🥹🥹
"i will often face different kinds of danger. for her, as a reporter in the front line, she will always be fighting alongside me. not only is she my lover but she is also my partner and my comrade-in-arms. when i injured my leg, i once thought i'd never be able to stand again. it was all because she was with me, encouraging me, staying by my side and giving me strength. to the world, i might look like a hero but in my heart, she is the heroine who saved me." 🥹🥹
perhaps what's the most interesting thing about the three stories is the common theme of feeling inferior, the desire to be noticed and what you would give up in order to achieve it.
the first story: she wanted a better (glamorous) life and exchanged her body but at the cost of not knowing how terrible it truly was. she took for granted a mundane life. the second story: she felt inferior to her co-worker and wanted people to notice her but at the cost of her mental health, having hallucinations. the third story: he was stuck in the role of a supporting actor, wanting to truly shine on stage but at what cost? his heart? his ability to love?
we know pu tao is considered one of the top writers so i wonder what it was that she gave up to get to that point. for sure her relationships with those men plays a big part in her trauma so i'm curious to see how the romance will progress. it definitely won't be an easy ride.

he traded his success for the people he cares about and regretted it, at the end he dies
moral of the story: greed knows no bounds
you'll never truly be satisfied with what you have, always wanting more and realising too late when you reached past the point of return
how was this not a marriage proposal?!
