Do I need to watch the other Arthdal Ch. to understand this one?
I am interested in this one because of Lee Joon Gi, and that's why I'm willing to give it a try. The story itself doesn't interest me...

Exactly, some people prefer one and some the other. And I explained my reasons for thinking HP is better. No one mentions competition.

I'm on ep 4 and think this is a nice drama. HP is still better. And all just because of one big difference that I noticed right away - the existence of toxic characters. For me the HP was such a relaxing watch because it didn't have the typical dramaish kind of characters where some want to sabotage the others. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't watch those kinds of drama, it's just that it was nice how the HP wasn't that kind. And here we have some toxic biiiiichchchs, but luckily the story doesn't revolve much around them and those kind of situations - well at least not until ep4, and thats why it is still a nice watch :)

It's a pretty good drama. Although the story was serious, they made it not so heavy. And that's the part I like the most! The adults became truly adults at some point and admited and lived with their mistakes. And for none of them was I left with feelings of hate

I am rewatching this for like the 7th time already! my all time fav!! I can't understand the hype about 88. I love the reply series, I rewatched 97 also 2-3 times, but for 88 once was enough.
And to this one, I come back every now and then, it's like my comfort drama. It's just perfect!! All of the cast are a perfect match!

No, he's actually very professional and perfectionist, and knows what the audience likes. I'm presuming you didn't watch any other kpop survival show - like how Big Bang, 2PM-2AM, Winner were made. The success is in the details that we, the normal folk, don't see. And it's those details, especially for the groups that don't come from the big three (SM, JYP & YG), that ultimately decide if the group will be successful or not - example: B.A.P and ofc BTS.

After finally gathering the courage, after 4 years to finally finish the last 4 episodes, all I want to say is - I need therapy TT_TT

It took me 3 years to start this season. And all because I loved the first one and read how the 2nd one doesn't compare to it. To add that the main female lead is replaced, and she was so awesome in the 1st part. It just wasn't appealing that much to me. But I knew that I would one day finish it, because I find the story veery interesting and wanted to see how it ends.
I'm glad I did!! Because I loved it!
It wasn't perfect, the pacing was a little bit all over the place, but nothing that terrible that would disturb my enjoyment. Another thing, the community was complaining about was the chemistry between the main leads. I thought it was nice, I don't understand the ones who said there isn't any.

yup, choi min soo's overacting... he's a really good actor and you can see that in this drama too. it's just that he decided to be a bit too much... umm gangsta?? I don't know, it's annoying, yeah :\

Jeana's review up there really hits the nail on this show. This is a law/revenge drama, all the required cliches are there, it's got nothing that you haven't yet seen from this type of genre. And that's not a bad thing. It's probably the reason why you're on this page, you want to see a crime suspence/revenge drama :)

Personally, I like that there is a bit romance here as well, but most of the times the romance seems unnecessary and just somehow misplaced.
Other than that, acting here is superb. Although I find choi min soo's acting (rather to say overacting) a bit annoying

I'm having difficulty finishing this because the FL annoys me. Actually PMY as an actress annoys me. Somehow she plays the same role in every drama, the same expressions etc. It just isn't fun for me to watch anymore :(

in the exact same place where you can see that it says it has 20 eps, there is also the airing date written there. and it says it's till 28th August...
also there is literally a countdown to the next episode on this very site you are on. not to mention the comments here that are all implying that the series is ongoing. and also there is always the allmightygoogle, if you happened to miss all that :P

The plot was interesting and it kept me hooked on it. Although it took a while to finish watching it.
The romance was not really necessary and at times really disturbing the whole story, no point to give it focus at this particular point of time. Like for example: a char got arrested, he has a lot on his mind, and then all of a sudden his gf comes and brakes up with him; and now he's sad because of it, he's in jail but apparently thats not as bad like the brake up. I mean, come on, did we really need this romance thing at this moment, what was the point?
I also found that the two main leads were awkward with each other, i didn't feel any chemistry between them. Maybe because they know each other from their idol days and they're still not experienced enough in acting.
All in all, romance was boring but the story was very interesting to the very end.

exactly how I feel! I am discouraged from watching most of the american series with an interesting plot because I know it won't just stop at one season. instead it will be like 10 :\

Although it did get a bit draggy after ep 12-13, it was still entertaining. And even those last three eps were way more exciting than some whole dramas tend to be.
Absolutely loved it, 10 from me. I am so glad that i decided to give it a go, thanks to the great review from Kate. That what she wrote actually was the "poke" that made me try it out :)
