If the screenwriter of Mr Queen thought BAYM was a copy or knockoff I’m sure lawsuits would have been filed…
Despite liking Mr Queen, I agree with everything you said. Actually, the only thing that made it really different is the gender-bender theme. Apart from that, it’s not something new in k-dramas.
People acting like Mr Queen is the OG/standard for every cooking or transmigration drama when it's not. I'm tired. Dae Jang Geum is far reasonable for comparison material imo, minus the transmigration part. Splash Love also exists. Mr Queen itself is a remake of Chinese drama. I don't remember foods being this detailed and focused in it as they are in BAYM?
Let me add this, K2’s scriptwriter did her dirty. He ditched her and made her write her own character’s script…
Yup. He basically butchered Anna’s character. Her character was supposed to have revenge arc from the beginning but he changed the script for her character ALONE after filming few eps of the drama. The actress had to act with whatever little direction given to her. He also did the same thing to Kim Tae Hee from Yongpal drama.
Kamg Hanna is so good at playing villain. She and her maid servant keep getting on my nerves 😀. I think Kang Mokju has something to do with Gonggil’s sister death.
is it just me or is it all seeming like filler episodes? a lot happens but at the same time nothing really happens...
Yeah, it’s probably the buildup for tomorrow. I still enjoyed it. We have like 5 more episodes. I think onward episodes will be heavy judging from the hints they gave today.
how the hell is the macaron colorful you can't tell me a chef knows how to make food coloring too😠also half…
Are we watching the drama or we just skip scenes. Maybe your stream platform is bad with subs and it makes sense you're missing the plot that -
[She is a Chef trained in France, specialized in western cooking. At the same time, her father is a History Professor. She used to study foods with her father's material research/books which is why she has knowledge in history and ingredients at the same time. The answer to your "you can't tell me a chef knows how to make food coloring too" is yes! It's basic in culinary school especially if you do desserts.]
One question: why doesn’t the king have children yet even though there is a queen? Why haven’t they consummated…
She is not the Queen. It's complicated to explain royal titles. She's a Concubine, a highly favored woman. The King does not have a wife or Queen in this drama yet. Although it's inspired by real king, but it's still a fictional drama. The way they are written is not historically accurate.
I thought she said the greenhouse is the first greenhouse in Korea/Joseon not the first greenhouse in the world?
For the puffed rice, did they really said it was invented first in Joseon?

A lot of other people including me truly love watching her on our screen :)
