caught up to the two new episodes and idk I'm getting kind of bored. imo the leads are a bit bland. part of it has to be blamed on directing. I thought over why I find the action scenes so bland and I realized for most of the battles, FL just sort of waves her hand and wins. it's very anti-climatic. I think a good comparison to her type of power is Scarlet Witch in Avengers, who also kind of waves her hand around but her fight scenes are filmed sooo much better in the sense that you can feel her power level.
Another thing that really bothers me is Gong Jun's acting. He acts with his mouth. Does anyone else notice this? When he speaks, only his mouth moves and emotions don't reach his eyes. Sometimes when he gets excited, his mouth moves a bit too much lol I can't explain it but someone on weibo said when he talks, it reminds them of a horse chewing on grass and I immediately understood the reference.
I'm not feeling any of the promo material released so far and I think this opinion is shared by a lot of other people on chinese forums. the good thing is that they hired an external photographer for this promo material so it says nothing about the director's eye for visuals, who I still have high hopes for. He has a background in cinematography and worked mainly with Guo Jingming whose dramas/movies are known for pretty visuals. I looked up his only other directing credit (it's a romcom with Lin Yi/Shen Yue) and it's yet to come out but there's a trailer and it looks ok but nothing spectacular. Please let this be good!
Why is everyone against the ML and FL relationship? They aren’t related, plus she is an immortal and he is a…
it's just hard to ignore because we see ML going from looking like a 8 yr old to an adult while FL doesn't age at all. and Condor Hero is too old of an IP. most people here probably haven't watched it. I think a more recent example would be Twilight. A lot of people have issues with Jacob falling in love with Bella's daughter, and none of these characters are human either.
ok done all 4 episodes. the CGI omg you can SEE the money on screen. I also really like the bgm (just the instrumental). some of the bigger set pieces look straight out of a video game. so far the story is kind of meh, I was fast forwarding a lot through the first 3 episodes. episode 4 is the only one I sat through in full. I don't really care for any characters so far, but I'll definitely continue watching just for the visuals.
The main issue isn't the age difference, age doesn't matter in xianxia dramas. The problem is that she raised…
Condor Heroes is a wuxia novel though.. it's not really a idol romance drama. I also don't really get XLN & YG's relationship but at least in that drama, they physically age YG towards the end to the point that he looks older than XLN.
tbh the plot looks a bit childish based on previews (understandable since it's based on a cartoon) but the special effects look amazing. probably the best I've seen from cdramas in recent years.
been reading some melons on broadcast dates. Fox Spirit should come out this month. Reborn for Love should air in July on IQIYI/MangoTV. Princess Royal is rumored for Q3 (July to Sept) but I feel like Q4 is more likely. The Best Thing was on IQIYI's Q4 schedule. If everything goes according to plan, he'll have no dramas for next year lol unless he jumps into something immediately after TBT finishes filming but I haven't seen any melons on his next project

edit ok I see a lot of people mentioned this already lol but it was the main thing bugging me while watching.
on another note, I reallyyyy like Chen Duling's styling here. the green outfit/makeup is so pretty
