the rumors about it getting a TV slot sounds almost too good to be true >_< I'll just take it with a grain of salt right now because I remember the same rumor for ZLS's Immortal and that never happened.
as for trailer, I think they will show something at the IQIYI conference in April. If they STILL don't show a trailer then I've given up on this drama lol there's no way it can air decently with so little promo.
i don’t understand how this is an S drama but barely any promo. I understand they’re still not finished dubbing…
I think promo depends on the production company and this production company is known for being kind of lax at promo. Their last aired drama was the one with Ren Jia Lun and Li Qin and that one also only started releasing promo material the week it aired :x
Fox Spirit might air in April and he has a small cameo in that which will probably last 1~2 episodes. There's been rumors that Reborn for Love will air in July but idk if that's a good slot lol since there's Olympics this summer and that usually soaks up all the attention. There's also been zero promo material for this drama so far and IQIYI didn't even include it in its list of big dramas so I have my expectations very very low lol Princess Royal will probably air in Q4 if all things go well. Actually I wouldn't even be surprised if his modern romcom ends up airing earlier since those have short post-production.
I am sure he will prove you wrong with his another praise worthy performance and will not disappoint so many people…
see this is where I think acting is subjective because IMO Wang Xing Yue was very wooden in SOKP and his line reading lacked emotion too (I understand Chinese). The hype for him felt like mediaplay from his company because there were articles hyping him even before his first scene lol
so I've been watching some of this director's past work and I've noticed one thing, he tends to have this weird blue-ish color grading in his dramas and sometimes the lighting is a bit too bright on the faces of the actor and the background is very dim in comparison.. it makes the picture look kind of uncanny/flat. lol it's hard to describe what I mean but I hope the cinematography will be better for this drama because Xian Xia dramas require .. scale. a lot of his dramas look very small in scale.
I’ve been scouring threads everywhere, on X, YT, Reddit etc. Some folks said it’s on Youku’s list of 2024…
The producer said on weibo that the drama will meet audiences this year. I think it might air in Q4 (Oct to Dec). This is a “落地古偶” meaning that it's "grounded". scenes are filmed on live sets with minimal cgi so there's not as much post-production. also, another thing to note is that this drama is going to use live audio that was captured during filming. that will also shorten the post-production process since they won't need to re-dub. a lot of the shots that appeared in the wrap video looked very finished too so I wonder if they were editing as they go.
think it should be soon because I saw melons posting that the cast will be on Hello Saturday in March. that's usually signs that they're gearing up for promo
The wrap up video exceeded all my expectations omg?? the cinematography y'all!! this is how you properly light a scene omg I swear so many cdrama directors do not know how to light a scene and rely on slapping a filter on in post-editing which is why some dramas look so flat visually

but hopefully IQIYI holds another conference this year and we'll get some trailers. they held one in May last year.
