From someone who absolutely LOVE the novel, this drama adaptation is actually good (after six episodes). Although it gears towards romance department (as expected of LOVE ON series), the changes made in the drama didn't deviate too far from the original material and that makes me really happy and invested. Looking forward to the next episodes. ❤️❤️❤️

I am not a Xianxia person and even though I love Gong Jun (he’s one of my favorite Chinese actors), his presence alone wasn’t enough to entice me to watch this drama for once. However, combined with stellar casts of Yang Mi, Miles Wei, Zhang Linghe and others, this drama shouts a promise of excellence that I couldn’t help hearing loud and clear. Thus, curiosity wins over desire and four episodes into the drama, I am so hooked line and sinker. One word to describe this - AWESOME! I love everything about it especially Gong Jun and Yang Mi. I love their chemistry. Waiting for the next episodes.

I have read the FOMH novel but haven’t watched the drama. But would agree with Colin above that for TWOT, those who haven’t read the book might just have to wait for the drama to release to spare them with the grief of having to wait for its air date.

It’s your problem if you missed on good dramas because you are looking at ratings. You have no right to dictate others how they feel about the drama. I’m pretty sure the OP gave a fair rating based on how he/she felt while watching. Please be respectful.

Just finished watching this today. My thoughts below.

I honestly struggled watching this drama and complete all 37 episodes. Maybe I am not the intended audience as this is more of a family-centric drama specifically a mother-daughter dynamics. I started watching it because of Xu Kai while waiting for his other drama As Beautiful As You to air and was expecting it to be romance driven as implied by the trailers. Maybe that’s my biggest disappointment because it felt like I was duped and it fell short of my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, this drama is excellent on its own to its intended audience with lots of lessons about life and family. It’s just that this is not for me.

Xu Kai is ONLY a supporting role here with minimal screen time. The brother even has more screen time than him and his love plot was more focused than the so-called main leads. I love the acting especially the mom who successfully brought out my inner rage everytime she opens her mouth at least until episode 27 or 28 when she realized her wrong ways. I was prepared for an overbearing mom character but my preparation fell short for this level of mom that I have to skip her scenes for my sanity’s sake. Great job to the actress playing MCH’s mom!!!

My overall rating is 7/10 but just because this drama’s not for me. Plotwise, I didn’t enjoy it. The OSTs are also not catching my attention. However, the actors are doing a great job with their outstanding performance portraying their characters! The cinematography is also good with picturesque scenery especially with mom’s hometown. Boticelli and Xing’lan hotels’ façade are also eye catchers. These salvaged an otherwise poorer rating from me.

Thank you BCE for a roller coaster ride! Though watching this drama will not be one of my Best Choice Ever.

I hope we can see more of XK in ABAY even if there's no romantic build up yet. I also think the romance will happen half way of the show or maybe earlier at least for ML (he's the first to realize his budding feelings, right?).

That bombshell blew me off. Weee! I am still doubtful of YZM but I came for the romance. So, whatever that would make them live under the same roof is a welcome.

Don't worry. Drama doesn't follow closely with the novel. It is unpredictable at the moment.

Agree with @Yichannvoice. The story is ~80% different from webtoon. Only the premise of an idol who died in the present and an avid fan who time-travelled to the past and trying to "save" that boy. Anything else in between are different.

I don't think it's only about the finances. It's her attitude that's the problem. When she received the inheritance from grandma, she never hesitated to flaunt her jewelries to her friends in their old community. She also doesn't want to leave the western-styled house (now owned by YZM) even if they already have the money to buy a new house. When YZM moved into HIS house, she has the nerve to tell him only the "attic" room is vacant. Hahaha! She will not change because they are now "rich." But I know she will have her redemption arc.

I think her scenes with YZM will be enjoyable and I can bear to watch her scenes with him.

Maybe a lot of commenters here are international fans and couldn't bear with a typical old-fashioned Chinese mom character. I find her painstakingly annoying as well which makes me so glad my mom is not like her. Her good intentions could never justify her actions. What annoys me the most is there's no realization on her part that what she's doing is already very wrong. And when others point it out to her, she has the audacity to get mad to that person for calling her out. She doesn't listen and always insists she's right and what she's doing is for the best.

I have a love/hate relationship with this drama. MCH's mom is painstakingly annoying which prevents me from enjoying the show to the fullest. I have to fast-forward her scenes for my sanity's sake. Her intentions don't justify her actions at all. However, I am aware that this is a family-centric show and will portray the dynamics of different kinds of family relationships (MCH family, ex-BF family, YZM family or lack of). This show nails it big time. The actress portraying MCH mother's role is really excellent! Hands down to her great acting prowess which makes a multi-layered character. My annoyance with her character has nothing to do with the show's quality.

I find episodes 21&22 very enjoyable especially YZM's interaction with MCH's mom. I found her scenes with YZM less annoying and comedic to say the least. I am looking forward to how mom will change with YZM living with MCH family now. I especially love the dinner scene with YZM, mom and dad. When mom insisted for YZM to eat her dish that he didn't like, YZM also insisted she eat the raw salmon which she didn't like either. In the end, she found the salmon to her liking and promised to buy it for dad in the future. She's changing and because of that I found her scenes to be bearable for now (though FF button is always ready anytime). I know she will have her redemption eventually and I'll come to love her when that happens.

We are also seeing more of YZM in these latest episodes which is heaven for me who went into this drama for Xu Kai. Looking forward to the next episodes with more cutesy, fluffy scenes with MCH. They're an adorable pair. Weee! Squeeeeeing with the "I like you" confession + stare-fest from YZM to MCH.

Try to watch Falling Into Your Smile as well. I love Xu Kai because of that drama. 😍

I was also shocked with that scene. Didn’t expect him to touch her hair while she’s asleep. I don’t think he already has romantic feelings for her.

That call with the security, I thought he was holding a remote control and not a phone. Hahaha! It could be my eyes though. But that’s how I see it even after rewind. 😂

Ikr. She’s so beautiful and her buttocks are perfectly shaped. Couldn’t believe her figure even at her age. I wish I could say the same for me. 😂
