havent read the webtoon but from some spoiler i gather nope he's not villain

will be here soon i hope this drama will be as good as the bond since this falls under the category of his serious filmography category

at this point i think you gonna take everything he did at face value. sure ig he knew her answer but i think seeing his intent behind the words is enough to tell how precious she is to him. he want her by his side not bc he want to use her but simply bc she is his precious person. i thought it is obvious he see fenglong as a better candidate for xiaoyao beside just wanting power and it's kind of sad ppl fail to see that.

this is the guy who love his childhood friend. fenglong ask for his help and he deliver, which he also did with jing eventho he doesnt like him. ppl can argue bc he need their help but he can always distort some truth while doing so, but he never did and convey their message as it is. he never even ask her to marry fenglong. all of this was not even start by him it was start by fenglong decision who want to get to know her, who later ask her to marry him. he only act when he was asked.

he clearly mention he need fenglong but fenglong need him too so she doesnt have to force herself with him. to me, he just want her to give fl a chance bc he think this is the man that good for her for all the reasons he has stated during their conv and why he is not fond of jing and ffb. is it not weird to you why he is so against with jing but fine with fenglong? is it really bc he can gain more when it's not even his idea for her to marry fenglong? but when fenglong state his intent to get to know her, he was never as hostile as he is with jing despite jing also being one of important figure for his path to throne

when did he lie to her? this differ for some ppl so you are entitled to your opinion but i for one never care or bothered that he use her bc she was never bothered and willingly to do so and he was very frank about it, he never sugarcoat about using her. call her stupid or me being blind but for that he wasnt annoying at all.

he said twice he should just send her back to haoling or zhouyun peak (? i forgot the second place) but basically just not with him bc being w him endanger her and that automatically make him unable to use her anymore but she doesnt want that. she want to stay with him, she want to help him get to the throne, that is the reason she become the princess. if she ever go back as he ask, he can use her no more but he doesnt care, so saying he is just using her is just ppl seeing his action on the surface imo. i know for sure if xiaoyao ever show discontent or disagreement and unhappy about being used, he would stop w wtv request he had bc he has never force or limit her from doing anything

most importantly questioning her love for xiangliu, it is precisely she write xiangliu character like that, that xiangliu is her favourite imo. he is the fan favourite in the novel and drama for a reason despite his endings. his ending was sad but it was bc his choice and loyalty. it is bc those traits she wrote for him that makes him so admirable and i would never question her love for this character bc it is obvious through her writing that she like this character, she made everyone felt sad, love and root for him. if she write him any differently, he wouldnt be the xiang liu that is loved by many

maybe because he had feelings for her? isnt that obvious 😭😭😭

the difference when his family was attacked and when he was attacked said it all. he was ruthless with xiaoliu when xl kidnap ah nian and he for sure is merciless with xiaoyao killer (wish we get more details on that scene but well), he let his attacker go bc he knows why he attack him , he is a family man through and through

ngl i actually like the drama version better it feels more intimate w/o any touching iykwim just his lips hovering over her and yeah

i think you will see those things you wanna see in season 2 the drama is following closely to the novel bc they had the novel author as the scriptwriter

fr i really came with low expectation but this drama gave me feels that no other historical drama ever gave me. if im being honest i force myself with a lot of drama even for many popular one that i end up liking but for this drama i dont need to do so, im captivated from the start. i love the plot, i love the chemistry, i love their dynamics and most importantly i love changge's growth. i love that this drama is all about forgiveness, i love that changge wasnt blinded by revenge and still care about leyan despite her father killing her family.

they robbed us from the great torture scene on the people who kill xiaoyao

i love how zhang wanyi and dengwei are close irl, they call each other with first name basis and they are food buddy

i just want to rant bc i see people on tiktok hating on kanghoon character and it just made me think that ppl cant seem to stand a slightly 'shady' character like him at all. sure he wasnt the greatest towards beomseok but the way ppl said stuff about him is like he is the worst person, and it feels like ppl are angry bc some are shipping heesoo with kanghoon so they try to paint him as this very bad person, bro is just an awkward lonely teenager i dont even think he like heesoo that way

you should continue bc there is so much more to uncover ep1 was quite boring imo but ep2 is where things get interesting for me, altho actually the younger cast story was less interesting compared to older cast bc the older cast has so much action scenes

i doubt so he is one of the main cast too early for him to be gone imo

i just skim thru the novel so this whole things might not be accurate at all but at that time he already had lots of political marriage and he was getting unhappier with each marriage that he also unable to refuse

and later there were one time he had conversation w xiaoyao, can he be happy or get married to someone his love like his parents (i dont remember the exact conv but it kind of goes like this i believe) she said that if he has someone he like he should go for her, not long after we got news jing was killed. so i do think all of that add up to be the trigger moment 1) her words of encouragement, 2) his unhappy state 3) xiaoyao getting married with jing who he esp doesnt like

if i were xiaoyao i definitely wouldnt be disappointed that xuan doesnt recognise me bc i dont recognise him too if not for the fur. just like how yangzi said to wanyi in their premier event (?) my pick most definitely would be jing. i need a yes man 🤣 i mean not really but basically someone like him

i think he mention in his conversation with xiaoyao "why not feng long" he seems to just think feng long is a better candidate overall. if his reason is her not loving feng long as many said, that can always change in the future. he cant predict future and be sure xiaoyao will not fall for feng long, right? as for killing definitely jelousy but also probably honouring his word that if jing hurt xiaoyao he will kill him 😭
