I think that Hira doesn’t demand, expect or initiate sex with Kiyoi. He lets Kiyoi be in charge of that as he’s still so disbelieving and grateful that Kiyoi’s with him. Once Kiyoi says it’s going to happen I think Hira is much more assertive sexually and Kiyoi lets him take charge. But it’s always Kiyoi’s call when it happens. That’s their dynamic for now.

I love how they echo each other. It just adds to their connection.

Wow that pisses me off! Kiyoi is this loving boyfriend and we don’t get to see anything if that?! This is why I generally don’t like reading the original source before seeing the show because 90% of the time the original is better. For some reason I don’t mind going back after I’ve seen the show and reading the original. I’m definitely waiting to read it until after the second season and maybe even the movie so I can continue to enjoy it in ignorance. I’m assuming the same director did the movie too.

I always thought he lashed out when he felt vulnerable. Like when he followed Hira with the bike because he wanted to be with him and then just had to prove he didn’t care by riding off without him. He always expected Hira to pursue him (especially if he felt he’d made an effort himself) and was angry when he didn’t. He both loved being more open with him (like the water fight) and then had to cover it up with anger. At least that’s my take.

If that’s true, it’s bs and Yusei’s manager should have done something about it. Cute as the actor playing Koyama is, I resent any time lost seeing Yusei in this part. He is fricking great. They are magic together.

I am loving Earth in this. Given his past, I get his hesitance with Wen. What’s so great about this show is how different it is from the typical BL. It feels real in the best way. Seeing the different ages, problems and perspectives of the characters adds so much to the story. Everything in the show is just clicking for me. It all works. So great to see Gemini & Fourth doing so well with completely different characters this time. Though what is with Fourth and that chin tickle? That’s like his go to move, lol. Now if they can just give me First & Kao together in this, I’ll be a happy lady.

You could totally be right about his motivation. I did wonder why they had him the second season at all, even knowing nothing about the books. Damn, now I want to read the books. Are they easy to find?

Well I’m going through all the posts constantly and commenting on them, so I’m right there with you. I wasn’t aware of all the stuff from the novel and changes the director made, but I did wonder why he was still in the show. I kind of wondered if he was there to try and break them up. So here’s my take: I don’t think Hira is influenced by Koyama that much. In fact he didn’t enter the contest until Kiyoi talked to him about it. Everything he does is because of Kiyoi and this is his first step to try to feel worthy of being with Kiyoi , though of course he already is. Hopefully the director won’t take any more from Kiyoi’s part and Koyama won’t cause trouble. So far it seems like he’s pushing Kiyoi to be a better boyfriend. I love that this show has us all so passionate about it.

Totally agree. In fact Kiyoi even wonders why he fell in love with such a weird guy. But he did and he accepts it. I love how he encourages Hira about the photo contest. He’s also Hira’s fiercest supporter and scolds Hira when he’s too down on himself.

Wow such hate for Koyama, lol. I think it was his brother who said Hira was his boyfriend and thank god he did because that’s what pushed Kiyoi to make a move. Personally I love how Koyama pushes Kiyoi and sticks up for Hira. In his own way he’s helping their relationship. I think the actor is adorable so that might be why I’m defending him.

I’ve been so happily surprised with how good this second season is. It’s sweet, funny and heartfelt at the same time. My favorite BL of the year so far.

I think it’s better. Maybe not story wise. It’s heavier but they have grown as actors and their chemistry is on point.
