This is late night drama. aired during 12am/1am slot. Drama in this slot tend to be more risque in production…
Wow, I had no idea about any of that. Thanks for the info! I know Japanese movies are more graphic sexually and violently, but didn’t know that was true of tv as well. I guess they don’t know people can record and watch them later or stream them lol.
I just rewatched this and I realized that the show is about how Minato has to grow up and mature before he can love Shin. Of the two characters, Shin is the more mature one and Minato has to catch up. Maturity isn’t just about age; it’s about knowing what you want and facing your fears.
Finally someone. Yes, Ritsu is a selfish and uncaring person, but he was totally upfront about it from the beginning.…
He told Masumi he really loved him so there’s that. Masumi has never been in a relationship and tells Ritsu how much he loves him all the time. Also, Ritsu should have told him specifically that he would be actively seeing people. He’s an uncaring narcissist.
Wow, REALLY different from Senpai, this Can’t be Love!! I’m surprised this was put on Japanese tv. Very curious what its reception will be there. Of course Ritsu is a total a**hole and I really hate him for what he did to Masumi. If he’s so comfortable with who he is, why wasn’t he honest with him from the start? He knows Masumi loves him! He’s a really damaged person and this show is getting dark. Not really sure where they’re going to go with this, but a happy ending seems very unlikely.
Just rewatched it and I forgot how sweet and emotional it really is. And actual kisses from a S. Korean BL! Such a great show. I am so hoping for a second season. Everything crossed.
For the life of me I do not get the appeal of Bank & Bonus as a couple. Bank in particular brings nothing to the table imo. I couldn’t stand them in Gen Y 2 and I can’t stand them now. The other couple is meh to me. This show is a miss as far as I’m concerned.
Yep. The casting was great except for that goofy sensei. The guy who played Asuka’s love interest has been in a couple of other BL’s. He kind of looks like the guy who played Tsuge in Cherry Magic.
Given Minato’s shyness, so you think he had any actual gay sexual experience? He dated the girl, but there’s nothing about his gay experience other than the crush on the sensei.
100% agree with you on everything you wrote. I loved Minato’s too. Shin was way more mature than Minato anyway. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous. I spent most of the episodes just saying omg he’s so cute over and over.
I totally agree. Other than Not Me, I’ve really disliked the characters Off has played with Gun. I get what you mean about TMS2. It wasn’t the best explanation of why he left, but I loved them so much I forgave it. But the whole Vegas/Pete thing is just wrong to me. I mean he abducted and tortured him! How is Pete not suffering from Stockholm syndrome? And people were so outraged over the age difference in Minato’s laundromat but fine with the kidnapping and torture? Give me a break.
Well I don’t like the new Akagi either or Takase. It also seems like Toru got rid of the “lower” class guy for the more educated one, which I don’t like. The casting is bad and so is the production value. It’s hard to believe that this was filmed the same year as My Beautiful Man and only 1 year before Old Fashion Cupcake and Eternal Yesterday! There is just no comparison with the quality level of those as opposed to this show. Not sure I can get through all the episodes.
