That is disappointing news. The funny part is what we like to call "BL" live-action dramas like WOH and The Untamed are in my opinion actually really not BL in the strictest sense of the term. Sure there might be some homoerotic subtext (sleeve cutting in WOH), clever twists, lots of hinting, suggestions, innuendos, poetry, bone-throwing, etc - plenty of that going on that could be interpreted as suggestive of a same-sex relationship, but then there is absolutely NO depiction of same-sex romance and so I would actually not call it BL. The source material that the dramas are adapted from might be BL, but the actual dramas are not. And the Chinese authorities have a problem with even that!? This is so frustrating.
