So I think it is really important to separate the original novel from the adaptation. Most YouTube videos and web sites that I have seen and read refer to the novel as a BL novel. You are actually the first person I know who is saying that the original novel is NOT BL. So in that sense it is interesting. But I agree the drama adaptation is probably not BL. Due to censorship restrictions, I personally do not consider any C-drama to be BL. I've never looked at The Untamed or Word Of Honor as BL dramas although their original novels are most definitely BL. But that is just my personal opinion.

I loved Choi Ji-woo in Crash Landing On You and the whole interaction with Kim Ju-meok who turns into a total fan girl was just too good.

OMG I cannot believe I missed Park Bo Gum in Itaewon Class. I must rewatch.

So if you notice this MDL page carefully this drama has been tagged as "Censored Adaptation Of Same-sex Original Work". Perhaps MDL got it wrong?

It will air in this lifetime, if not then most definitely the next lifetime. I think.

Which is why I had "BL" in quotes. I don't find these C-drama adaptations to really be BL, but I find these to be Queerbaiting. I say that because these dramas contain lots of homoerotic subtext, clever twists, slow-burning erotic tension, hinting, suggestions, innuendos, poetry, bone-throwing, etc - plenty of that going on that is suggestive of a same-sex relationship, but then absolutely no depiction of same-sex romance. Just my opinion.
