Peach Blossom Island Taohua Dao

Over the years there have been countless C-drama adaptations of Jin Yong's novels. The Condor Trilogy (The Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Return of the Condor Heroes, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber), Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Smiling Proud Wanderer, etc to name a few. I hope that there are more remakes and adaptations of WOH and The Untamed in the future. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part. Does anyone feel strongly one way or the other if there should be future remakes of some of these BL novels and what is the likelihood of that happening?

-Word of Honor (edit: alright, I watched it, the drama fits this category :D)-The Wolf-The Legend of Zu-The Condor…
The Untamed and The Legend of Zu are NOT Wuxia. They would be categorized as Xianxia. Also The Legend of Zu is a movie, not a drama.

I’m still in a mood to reminisce over the last 2.5 months. I can’t over this segment in Ace vs Ace where ZZH…
ZZH played Yelu Qi in one of Return of the Condor Heroes adaptations and although it was a small supporting role, I thought he was great. That is the only other work of ZZH that I have seen.

So I might be saying something controversial here, but that is okay, it is just my opinion and not meant to offend…
As a member of the LGBTQ community, I've been called a lot of derogatory things in my life and made to feel sub-human and a child of a lesser God, but I've never been called small-minded. As someone who is from Asia and does NOT "come from the west" I can't claim that I have had the freedom to do anything and everything as you claim. Your comments about small-minded and coming from the west at best are ignorant, petty and spiteful and you expose yourself as someone who lacks the ability to debate respectfully without engaging in personal hateful attacks and for that you really ought to be ashamed of yourself.

I respect your opinion although I completely disagree with it. I called it Queerbaiting because it fits the text-book definition of what Queerbaiting truly means - Lots of hinting, suggestions, innuendos, poetry, bone-throwing, etc going on that is suggestive of a same-sex relationship, but then absolutely no depiction of same-sex romance. Zero. I understand why they did it - Censorship and all, but that doesn't change the fact that it is what it is. Your quarrel really is with the dictionary definition of Queerbaiting and not necessarily with my opinion of the show. I however do take offense to your suggestion that me categorizing this as Queerbaiting is a attack on the WOH crew, the whole staff, and everyone else on this project. I love this show and I'm crazy about it so I do take offense to that dig from you on the WOH crew.

I do have to warn you that you do risk sounding homophobic when you make statements like - "I'm not a fan of BL and I didn't give the drama a try because it's BL".

I’m not a fan of bl and I didn’t gave the drama a try because it’s bl. Instead i enjoyed the main plot and…
So I might be saying something controversial here, but that is okay, it is just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone. I actually don't consider the drama to be BL. I understand that the original novel is BL, but in my opinion the drama is not. The drama is actually the text-book definition of Queerbaiting to be honest where creators hint at, but then do not actually depict, same-sex romance or other LGBTQ representation. They do so to attract ("bait") a queer or straight ally audience with the suggestion of relationships or characters that appeal to them, while at the same time attempting to avoid alienating other consumers. So there is plenty of hinting, and innuendos going on (sleeve cutting, etc), suggestive poems, etc. but absolutely zero depiction of any same sex romance. Don't get me wrong, I love this drama and I'm crazy about it, but I would not call it BL. The novel might be BL, but the drama is not. Again, just my opinion.

Growing up watching numerous C dramas, I expect people dying in most of it, so I wasn't even fazed that characters…
No, they're not actual ghosts. This is not a Xianxia or fantasy or supernatural genre. It is Wuxia.

Are there any theories on where that random kid from the special/bonus/"ep 37" came from? Who was the man with the kid? I was confused by that whole scene.
On Word of Honor May 5, 2021
Can someone please provide a link to the English subbed "bonus clip" or what a lot of people have been referring to as the "Episode 37"? Many thanks!

omg stopp ep 35 was way too sad!! there was no reason for that uncle to be that fuckin brutual to Cao Wen Ning.…
It just seemed totally unnecessary and it completely gutted me inside out. Tragic and I just didn't see the point of killing these two off so mercilessly and how that fit in the whole story. I mentioned in my earlier comment that I can't help but feel that Wen Kexing totally failed Ah Xiang. She was murdered on his watch in his house in his backyard and he could not save her.

Alright alright, if Word of Honor isn't a Wuxia drama, then I'm not a human being living on planet earth. XDWord…
WOH is supposed to be a Wuxia drama, but you expect a Wuxia drama to have great fighting scenes and that is one area that WOH falls remarkably short. Don't get me wrong, I love WOH and I'm crazy about it, but it just doesn't have those great fight scenes which is a necessary hallmark for a great Wuxia show.

she's a capable woman, she doesn't need a man to protect her. She said so herself in the drama
Yes, we saw how capable she was in that episode in protecting herself and her loved one.

Ep 35 was just really difficult to watch. The whole thing with Gu Xiang just totally gutted me and just I mean why. Oh well. I just feel Wen Kexing totally failed Gu Xiang. It happened on his watch and in his backyard and he did not protect her.

Is it me or did the killing of Gu Xiang & Cao Wei Ning seem totally unnecessary. Like what was the point of killing…
